Lower Tuner out of TV

So, I bought this TV from a kid at the end of last school year for real cheap, because sometimes the lower channels go in and out. Figuring it was something to do with the lower tuner, I brought it home and hooked it up to a VCR (through the AV ports) and now I can watch all the channels on it.

Basically, what I'm asking is if anyone knows of an gadget that is basically a cable tuner that I can hook up to the TV and flip through channels with the remote. I guess it would sort of be like one of those old timey cable boxes, but it would have to go through the AV ports and not the RF(?) port. I realize that I could always buy a cheap VCR, but its a big TV and a small cabinet, and a VCR would just not be practical. I've started my search, but I have come up with nothing so far. Thanks!

Here's one, but I think I'd find a way to fit a cheap VCR (or better yet DVD recorder with a tuner) into my setup rather than pay what they're asking.

~edit~ You could also get an RF remote and put the VCR wherever and just run long cables. Still probably more money than I'd want to spend, unless you had other reasons to consider an RF remote.

Oi. Cheap VCR it is. Now I'm just glad I saved that old CRT monitor stand. Hope it will hold a 27 in. TV. Haha. Thanks. I think this can be locked.

If you're getting cable service, just get a cable box from the cableco. Most modern boxes, especially digital ones, have all sorts of outputs.

Also, remember that anything you do in terms of an analogue tuner will be obsolete in early 2009 when analogue television broadcasts are discontinued in the US. A cheap VCR sounds like a good idea because it will still be potentially useful after that.
