Best looking PSP game?

edited July 2007 in Games and Technology
I don't want to sound fickle but well, I am. I'm picking myself up a psp next week, and have already marked out about 10 games i'm going to get, but as always with new consoles, i want to get something that really shows it off, so what i really want to know is..

what is the best looking psp game in you guys opinion? I don't care how it plays, though good games is a bonus, but i'd just like to know what everyone thinks the pinacle of this systems graphical output is. Google isn't very helpful, but seems to suggest Daxter?

(oh and before i get lambasted for buying a psp not a ds... i already have a ds, and the psp has finally built up enough of a decent catalogue to earn my monies)

Killzone Liberation is mighty good looking. So is Portable Ops as mentioned before.

I hear Daxter looks good as well, also the Ratchet game.

Ratchet and Clank really looks nearly identical to the console ones.

God of War was already mention, but it is the best looking PSP game I have seen and a great looking game in general. I'd be interested in seeing it on a TV with the new PSP's TV out function.

I'm not really all that fussed, the only thing that really appeals to me about the resdesign is the battery life... I have a vision:M for watching movies on tv when i go places so don't really care about the video out (would never be in a position to play the games on a tv.. if i was by a tv and could play games it would be in my house...and i'd be using my pc), and i already enjoy the weight and size of the current psp.

will the battery really be that much better?

sounding pretty good guys thanks, killzone and metal gear are already on my shopping list... so that makes me pretty happy ;)

Portable Ops is probably the best looking one, but Syphon Filter is pretty up there too. I've been amazed by some Monster Hunter screens, but I haven't played it myself.

Oooh Dungeon Siege, yes! That was a surprisingly good game that most people seem to have ignored.

Also, Loco Roco's visuals are amazingly crisp and stylistic. Everyone with a PSP should at least give the demos a whirl.

Out of all the released games, I'd have to say either Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops or Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. But including all the unreleased games? God of War: Chains of Olympus looks great but Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core looks unbelievable.

I always thought that Wipeout Pure was one of the best looking titles. Metal Gear Portable Ops and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror do look pretty damn good too.

Yeah, I bought it new, and traded it in for like a $30 loss that same week cause I couldn't stand the control scheme.

As for visual, Daxter looks great. Worms is big-big fun, but a little tough to see on the screen; so much going on.

It really suffers from having one analogue stick, that's for sure.

Wait for the revision. A faster UMD drive will be a blessing. Load times are one of my biggest pet peeves.

I was about to give up on Syphon Filter until I remembered that you could lock on, which certainly made things far less of a chore. I thought Ace Combat X looked nice, but it doesn't hold up to Daxter and MG: PO.

Haha, yeah. For the first few minutes, I was trying to aim with the Circle/Square etc buttons, and I was about to throw the PSP at a wall. Luckily I found the good old Z-lock aim with the L button.

That image cannot be real, can't it? Must be a cutscene and not the in-game cutscene, right? Right????

Yeah it is. But all the cutscenes are rendered by the game engine anyway, so it's not like they're pre-rendered.

What happened is that Square Enix ported the Kingdom Hearts 2 engine over to the PSP and that's what Crisis Core and Dissidia are built on. It's also why the Kingdom Hearts spinoff that's being announced at TGS will probably be a PSP game.
