    I think it's the part where Dubois pins a fake ribbon on Rico's chest, saying "1st place in the 100m dash" and asks him if he likes it. Rico explains that no, he does not, because Duboi "knows damn well he got third," and so the ribbon is worthless to him, he does not want it...and then Dubois goes on for like 20 pages correlating something along those lines to the flaws in Communism.

    I mean, hell, look at the Arachnids. They are about as big of a communist allegory as you can get. The hive mind/no individuality/merit, etc.

    mainly because it's almost impossible to have an identity with no economy and no posessions and no freedom of speech or thought

    all the restrictions necessary to make communism work take away personal agency

    Communism only works in small isolated enclaves wherein the people involved are there on their own behalf, and it works rarely even at that.
