Original XBOX vs 360 AV cables

Can you use your original XBOX AV cables on the 360 the same way you can on a Gamecube/Nintendo 64? Advice would be much appreciated as I'm trying to purchase an HDMI cable for 360 and wondering if I can save a few bucks by getting older models.

    First of all, no.

Second of all, there was no HDMI cable for the old Xbox anyway, so I'm not seeing what you'd save.

Third of all, all HDMI cables are the same at both ends. Get an $8 one off of Monoprice.

Fourth, you know only the Elite supports HDMI, right?

    Three problems here:

    1) There was no HDMI cable for the xbox 1.

    2) The HDMI port on the 360 elite is a standard HDMI port, meaning that you do not need a Microsoft cable. Also, the elite comes with one in the box which works just fine.

    3) The multi-out port on the 360 differs from the one on the original xbox, and neither can output an HDMI/Digital signal.

    edit: DAMN, I am late.
