Just finished this last night, and I have to say it is not nearly the piece of shit that many of the reviews lay it out to be. I am not a fan of motion contols and this felt just fine after a little practice. The game's issues are poor design and poor story telling, not poor controls.

I have to completely agree with you. I got the game after reading all of the reviews and was expecting something really terrible. But maybe that worked in my favor. I also got it after the 1.93 update, so maybe the mysterious update had something to do with it as well. In any case, after an hour or so, I was fine with the controls. My only major complaint was the 180 move which was in all cases frustrating and difficult to pull off. If they had of made the 180 move available by flicking one of the padles or a button, and kept everything else movement wise by the motion controls I think it would have been a big improvement in tight, time sensitive battles.
I hate to compare it to GoW. But I got a similar feeling. Even with all the bugs in GoW I keep going back for more. And in the same sense, I kept going back for more in Lair even with the frustrating targeting system and lack of detailed objectives.
For whatever reason, I think the game got pushed. If it had probably 6 more months of polish, I think it would have been a Triple A title. I wasn't at all dissapointed with the purchase, sometimes extremely frustrated, but it was worth the experience, and I had fun playing it. I would still suggest it to anyone that was curious.
