Basically, as long as it's a good game I'll play it. I do enjoy FPS's, and I know there's tons of those. I do like RPGs, adventure games, and strategy games, etc etc.
Gears of War
Crackdown
Symphony of the Night
Alien Homind
Oblivion (if you can't get the pc version)
Dead Rising (not my cup of tea, but everyone seems to like it)
I've heard very good things about Rainbow Six: Vegas and G.R.A.W., but I can't say personally.

Tomb Raider: Legend is a great game, with some awesome DLC coming in the next couple months (the entire TR1 redone for the engine).
Forza 2 is the best racing game ever made. For serious. If you like serious business sim racing, there is no other.
Gears of War is an obvious choice. It is every bit as good as people say... but if you have a fuckawesome PC rig, you may as well wait for the version that has 2x more singleplayer content and a level editor. If not, there is still a lot of awesome in the 360 version, and it's POSSIBLE the extra content for the PC will come to us, sans editor.
And if you simply get those games, they will tide you over until august, when the fucking torrential storm of awesome begins, which includes Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Bioshock, PGR4, GTAIV, Halo 3, Rock Band, and countless others.
Seriously, it's a great time to get a 360.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Also, download every single demo you can. There are loads of fuckawesome hidden in those, and so I have so many impulse buys from the arcade based on, like, 10 minutes of demo.

unfortunately, COD3 is a pale shadow of COD2, and the amazing looking COD4 coming this year.
Madden 07 is a good game, but nothing really major in my opinion. I really expect the first "next gen" madden will be 08, now that they are familiar with the hardware.
I dunno about midway. Never played it, and it never took off at 360a.
But you got a hell of a deal there. I look forward to rocking out some games int eh future with you.

I'm wondering if there is any way of getting a good price for selling those games, because I'm sure that money from those would be much better put towards GoW, Oblivion, GRAW, etc etc. Also, when do aforementioned fuckawesome games start coming out?

No 360 has built in wifi. The controllers are wireless for all 360s, but never the console.
You can either spend 100 on a rather expensive but really awesome 1st party solution that has software built into the console and is very stable, or you can spend far less on a wireless bridge that costs abotu half that, but involves some initial legwork to set up properly.

I was talking to the guy, and he says that it was a core system that he bought all that stuff for after. Does that mean there is no Wifi in it?
None of the models have built in Wifi. You can either buy the ridiculously not worth it offical adapter, get a wireless bridge, or make one with a cheap wireless router.
Don't get GRAW, get GRAW 2, it is superior in every way and people still play it. Also GRAW has an obscenely bad multiplayer server. And if MP aint your thing , GRAW 2 has better single player anyway.
Also The Darkness is pretty kickass. I mean you'll have to play the demo because it's kind of love/hate but damn the execution moves are pure awesome. Also: snake demon thingies are kewl.
XBL is a neccesity, I mean IMO I understand some people can't afford it, but it's still a great service.
where is all this hate for the 360 coming from
it is a very solid system with a solid gaming library
as far as games are concerned it's hard to say that the wii or the ps3 have a better library, i mean, i love my wii and all but the 360 just has more quality games on it
I'd advise forza 2, gears of war, the darkness, guitar hero 2, and graw2
i have oblivion for the 360 and for the PC, and if you have a high end computer it is much better on the PC, if only for the slimmer loading times
man i miss that game so much
I'm going to add some comments for each game, so you don't have to rush out and blindly buy it. I'll be putting all of this in a thread in accumulated forum knowledge (or this thread can just be moved there after its ran its course) Geometry Wars-Just buy it. It's one of the best XBLA games and it's only $5.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night- This is a port of the PS1 hit and critic's darling. It is a 2D sidescrolling action RPG that's similar to Metroid, but with gorgeous hand drawn graphics, stunning animation, and beautiful, epic music. The SotN is easily one of the best 2D games of all time.
Ghost Recon: Assault Warfighter- This title is one of the most critically acclaimed releases for the XBox 360. It is the premiere XBox 360 shooter and it can usually be found for around $20 used. It features a great multiplayer mode and a pretty good single player mode. I suggest giving this game a try before getting the sequel.
Bomberman Live- This is probably my favorite multiplayer XBox 360 game. The object is to dispatch all your opponents with your infinite supply of bombs. Every round feels like a party. The gameplay is simple but addictive, and there will be lots of DLC in the near future.
Gears of War-This is another multi-million selling A+ shooter, with fantastic production values to match the surprisingly deep gameplay, thanks to its well refined cover system. The only disappointment is the story, which is just an excuse for you to kick ugly Locust ass. The online co-op and multiplayer modes are well made and give this title lots of replay value.
Lumines Live-This was the PSP's killer ap, and now it is getting a second chance on XBLA. The gameplay is elegant, and this is probably the most pure puzzle game since Tetris. The sound and visuals are well made for a puzzler, and online multiplayer is included. The only problem I have with the game is with the price of the core game, which is severely limited without the extra DLC. Expect to spend around $20 before you have something comparable to the PSP original.
Burnout Revenge- This is one of the best arcade racers ever made, and there is no reason not to buy it now that this title is almost as cheap as the last gen versions. This game adds better graphics and DLC to the award winning XBox game. The wrecks are the main appeal, and the Burnout Revenge has better crashes than a Hollywood blockbuster.
Earth Defense Force: 2012- Developed by the makers of Robotic Alchemic Drive, this game was quietly released as a budget title, but the game is worth full price just for the co-op mode. The game feels like what would happen if you crossed Starship Troopers with Independence Day. It is a adrenaline fueled non-stop shooter where you are always overwhelmingly outnumbered.
Crackdown- Crackdown is a polished entry in the urban sandbox genre made popular by the GTA releases, and it eclipses that series in some respects. You are a supercop instead of a gun for hire, and your powers evolve as you complete more tasks. The story is almost non-existent, but the freeform gameplay is addictive as a drug. There is even drop-in co-op if you want to clean up crime with a friend.
Viva Pinata-This game was praised by the press but mostly ignored by XBox owners. It is the best Rare release in a long time, but many people wrote it off as a shallow kiddy game. They are missing out on a great experience. Its colorful, family friendly exterior hides a sweet bounty of engrossing, addictive gameplay. The object of the game is to attract and raise a farm full of pinatas, and draws comparisons to titles like Pokemon, The Sims, Animal Crossing, and even Dungeon Keeper.
Saint's Row. If you're even remotely fond of the GTA games, then this is a definite must buy. Like a lot of others mentioned here, it's around $20 used. It arguably trumps GTA 3 in nearly every way.

Why are people listing games that aren't even out yet lol omg
Gears was sorta overrated, but it's still a really good game. I don't play online, so I can't comment there. But the single player campaign was worth one and a half playthroughs for me.
The co-op was good too. But the MP is just "ok", in fact I'd just call the whole game 'good' but it's marketed and treated like the best thing to happen to humanity since like, Jesus sliced bread.

Actually you're right, co-op was great, especially on my widescreen HDTV. Just make sure you play with someone who knows how to reload without asking how to reload every minute

BioShock is coming soon enough to mention it. Aug-20 something-ish...
That's a whole month from now. In the game industry, 80 percent of the work is done in the last 10 percent of time. Who's to say Bioshock is must-have? Yeah the trailers look fantastic, but how many times has this scenario happened and the game ended up lacking luster? I'm looking at you, Perfect Dark Zero.
Yeah. I try not to recommend games I haven't played yet. I could recommend Halo 3 on the Beta, but who knows, they might have suckified it in the past few months.
Dead Rising
The Darkness
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Pro Evolution Soccer 2007
Forza 2
Guitar Hero 2
Command & Conquer 3
Oblivion
in no particular order besides the gametypes you prefer or can get on other platforms.
I found Gears to be a graphical powerhouse with lackluster gameplay. Tolerable in co-op.
Apparently the online multiplayer is or was, decent. I wouldn't know.

From my perspective I am not that thrilled about the previews. Everything is shown from a completely balls-to-the-walls action oriented, sale point. And I notice that about nearly all games these days, few if any will show the enviornment. Oblivion was like this, nearly all of the previews focused on killing monsters magically or with swords, etc.
What I look forward to, and what I am sure the game will have a lot of, are moments of story and atmosphere like System Shock 2. The setting of the game itself is what is convincing me to be at my local EB with bells on, on the moment of BioShock's release. Few games offer such a unique setting to play in.
What about BC must haves? I missed the Xbox the first time around, so where can I find the list of BC games and whats absolutely must have of those? Right now I'm sitting on Dark Corners of the Earth and Shenmue 2, but I'm sure there are more that I should have.
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Gears
Dead Rising
Oblivion
Crackdown
and I personally enjoyed Marvel: Ultimate Alliance a great deal. If you liked the X-Men Legends games, this one is even better.
Guitar Hero II is fantastic of course but you may be better off waiting for Rock Band at this point.
Games you should keep an eye on:
Stranglehold
Bioshock
Blue Dragon
Mass Effect
Halo 3
Lost Odessy
Rock Band
Assassin's Creed
I'm still fairly new to the 360 scene, but my fave retail titles:
• Gears (I don't really bother with multiplayer deathmatch, but the single-player is fun and online co-op makes the game for me; I ran though with a buddy online and it was manna from heaven)
• Burnout Revenge (completely badass arcade racing, I can't stand driving sims so this got a lot more playtime than even PGR3)
• Tomb Raider Legend (same as the PS2/GC/PC versions, but it's cheap now and if you haven't picked it up might as well for the 360; a great puzzle platformer, much like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time-lite)
• Dead Rising (not everyone's bag, but it's such a novel concept, and frankly I loathe the undead)
Plus most of the games above (sans Gears) can be found for really cheap nowadays, $30 or less if you hunt around. Though IMO, the 360's real killer app is Live and the Live Arcade. Eight-player Bomberman Live with full voice chat so you can hear the laughter and screams of people on your friends list is so, so worth the $4 a month for Live Gold. Plus, if you like pick-up-and-play games (which I adore), Pac-Man CE, Geometry Wars and Heavy Weapon are solid fucking gold.

So, what's a good method for selling used 360 games for a decent price? I'm sure not going for the EB games method.
Don't try and trade in older games that there are already a million used copies of floating around? EB Games method is actually very sound and makes quite a bit of sense.
If you really want to go through the hassle, Craigslist.
