Fucking song name driving me nuts...

I don't know who the song is by. I thought it was Neil Diamond, but I haven't been able to find it. It's about a girl who the singer wants to pursue, but is waiting for her sailor boyfriend to come home. I thought the name of the song was the name of the girl, but again, now I am not so sure.

It was definitely easy listening/classic rock, probably from the 60s or 70s.

    Brandy (You're a Fine Girl) by Looking Glass, maybe? There's no pursuing, but it's about a girl and a sailor boyfriend who won't leave the sea for her. Or Suzanne, by Neil Diamond, which is sorta about sailors?
