Consolidating albums on iTunes

So, I have a bunch of singles in my music collection, and for simplicity, I labeled them all as being in the album "Absolute one hit wonders" so they would all be grouped together when I look at stuff by album, and I could get some random album artwork for the whole batch.

Unfortunately, this hasn't worked the way I'd hoped it would, and when I sort by album now they all appear together, but each is has its own album artwork even though they're all in the same 'album.' Is there some way to fix this? It also has come up on some compilation CDs where every track has a different artist credited.

There's an option to make multiple songs part of one 'Compilation'.

Select all the songs, right click > edit tags (or something similar) and set the Part of Compilation option to Yes
