edit: and to be sort-of on topic, if this is the story i'm thinking about, isn't this the judge who agreed that games are a form of expression, and so should be protected by the First Amendment, but wasn't completely happy with the idea (or something). What i don't understand is, are violent (and i mean games that feature adult amounts of violence) legally allowed to be sold to children, or not? And if so, why can't they be rated the same as films, rather than what appears to be a 'suggested rating' at the moment.
"Violent video game" means a video game in which the range of options
available to a player includes killing, maiming, dismembering, or sexually assaulting
an image of a human being"

Good news, everyone, raping animals is still OK.
*whew*
Yeah, violence in quite a few definitions only refers to actions against humans. If I blow up a house, it isn't violent.

I know, I was just worried there for a moment. I'm not sure what I'd do if they took my hobbies away from me.
We should discuss persuasivegames.com, and the guy that was on the Colbert Report last night. He's totally retarded, and his games suck. In my humble opinion that is.

Let's make fun of his googly eyes!
Seriously, though, with him, I like the medium, but not the message. I wish he'd stop saying that he uses games to educate, when really he is just trying to push his own subjective agendas on the issues.
Hell, I'm a pretty liberal dude myself, and haven't really foundanything I actually disagree with him on (albeit, I haven't looked that hard) but I HATE it when people no only presume that their opinions are right beyond a shadow of a doubt, but then go on to teach those opinions to others as "fact". How isthat any different from setting up a creationism museum thatstates thatman walked with dinosaurs?
