Xbox games that I should look into now that I have a 360
Back in the day I got a PS2 and never an Xbox so I largely missed out on Xbox gaming. The two games that I distinctly remember playing were Black (an amazing looking FPS) and a 3rd person air combat game which was pretty awesome.
I've got my 360 settled and in addition to the 360 games I'll be grabbing soon, I'm trying to pick up some older (and ergo cheaper) Xbox games. Obviously they need to be on the BC list. I've done a search and come up with the following that interest me:
When I was a little kid, I always pretended I was the hero,' Skip said.
'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
I didn't know that, when I played it on my roommate's Xbox I assumed it was exclusive.
We actually had this thread very recently, I suggest you check it out, we covered pretty much everything.
Oh, d'oh! I searched for "xbox" and didn't even think of clicking on the thread with vanilla in the title, haha. I just looked for anything with 'games' in there.
Black was alright, but not great. The 3rd person air combat game might have been Crimson Skies, which was fun.
Yeah, it was Crimson Skies, you're right.
I didn't mention Halo because I thought it a given that I'd played it. Oops. Yeah, I played 4 player Halo for dozens of hours at various friends' homes and at college.
Is Ninja Gaiden Black the sequel to Ninja Gaiden or are they the same game? Is it true that the series is viciously difficult??
Well I'm still waiting to get a 360 this month ~ PS3 and Wii aren't cutting it right now.
Released / Soon to be released:
Assassins Creed
Mercenaries 2
Virtua Fighter 5 ( online ) wootness!
Bioschock
Blue Dragon ( haven't heard much about it after release, I'm sure it did well )
Halo 3 ( I guess )
Fable 2
Divider on
Luigi doesn't care about black Lumas! - TehBlueBlur ( 11/16/2007 )
Halo is still an awesome game, and Halo 2 only less so. Plus, they're dirt cheap.
Other than that:
Ninja Gaiden
KOTOR
KOTOR II (although you may want to go PC for this one; there's a team modding back into the game the content that was cut from the ending)
Fable
Psychonauts
Panzer Dragoon Orta (if you can find it)
Splinter Cell (just the first one... the rest are pretty 'meh' imo)
Divider- Blue Dragon got mixed impressions. I'd wait for it to come down in price. Besides, if you wait they'll probably release a higher difficulty mode as free DLC like they did in the Japan release, which would help with the fact that the game is impossible to lose.
I imagine Halo would be very underwhelming at this point.
Uh-oh spaghetti-oh!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the series, and I loved Halo 1, but I don't think it has the kind of lasting appeal that would make it recommendable six years later. It's a moot point anyway, since the OP has played it.

Fair doos couldn't see it mentioned in the OP. For what its worth I never owned an xbox and found both Halos well worth playing through on my 360.
The search button? Sorry to shit on this thread, but why can't people research a bit - we had a thread like this a few pages ago.
So, to add my 2 cents:
OBox games I recommend:
Shenmue 2 - Better draw distance, less popups and decent resolution
Conker live and reloaded
Panzer Dragoon Ortha
Ninja Gaiden Black
Both Halos - if you are into that. >Even the first one still holds up IMO. I am currently playing through "Legendary".
Crimson Skies
Phantom Dust (which collects dust in my shelf because of the retarded region lock)
Blue Dragon is a good game IMO. Other opinions might vary. Its very oldschool has fun mechanics, but the plot is something taken out of an medicore anime.
Hopefully the two Otogi games make it to thr BC list soon.
Ninja Gaiden Black included better/new camera controls, an updated engine and new enemies, harder gameplay, tweaked mechanics and new items. Lots of these things can be downloaded as "hurrican packs" for "vanilla" Ninja Gaiden on Xbox Live.

Like I said, I did a search but didn't think to check a thread with 'vanilla' in the title- not speaking English natively, I'm unfamiliar with some terms. I will search more comprehensively next time, though. Sorry for clogging the board.
Thanks for the tips so far, everyone.

Almost all my favorite XB games aren't BC(namely SVC Chaos). So, I'm keeping my original system whenever I upgrade.
Seconding Phantom Dust, Panzer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, Ninja Gaiden, the usual suspects.
But here's one no one else seems to know exists: Xyanide.
It's now $12.99 new. Intense multi-dimensional shmup.

I'd also suggest Fable and SSX3
Need I say more?
Ahh shit it's not BC is it. Damn

Most good OXbox are on the BC list by now. Otogi 1 & 2 are notable absences, and I don't know if they ever added Phantom Dust.
Anyway, buy Panzer Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden Black.

I'll read through that now.
Jade Empire.

Jet Set Radio Future

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Shenmue 2
Phantom Dust (if you haven't already played it)
I'd be all over Phantom Dust but i haven't heard of a way to transfer save files from an XBOX drive to a 360 drive.
I had a lot of hours on that save and i don't have the kind of time to replay it.
