Brand new LG 42" lcd and zelda looks like shit
So I just unpacked and setup my new tv. It is very pretty, Twilight princess does not. So I have some questions since the manual is 5 pages long. Model is 42lb5d.
The Advanced, and Screen options are grayed out. How do I access them?
Will it help? or does Zelda just look like crap regardless and is anyone else getting this color bleeding in water?
also why the fuck does SUPER PAPER MARIO look awesome on it and not zelda?
First things first. What cables are you using to connect your Wii to the TV?
If they are not component cables, then purchase a set immediately. Once you have component cables running from the Wii to your TV, go into the Wii settings, screen settings, and then set the screen resolution to 480p. On composite, the game looks like it has had mud smeared on the screen.
You mention being unable to access screen settings... are these the screen resolution settings in the Wii menu? If so, you need to get a proper set of cables.
As Scott said get component cables if you aren't using them, however I always thought Zelda looked pretty meh to begin with.
I'm not sure why your manual is 5 pages long as the one here is 110 pages so if you don't have that one I recommend reading it. If that doesn't answer your questions read AVS Forum Thread and if it that also doesn't answer your questions then post them in it as some one there will be able to. I also recommend either using some sort of disc to calibrate your TV or take settings from the AVS Forums and the starting settings are usually terrible.

If you want to outlay a few more bucks (and providing your TV doesn't already do it) once you get the component cables, you could also invest in an up-converting A/V reciever. But that's a somewhat expensive option.
When you say it looks like shit, do you mean that something is actually wrong with the picture, or just that the game is jaggy, with low-res textures and washed-out color? Because Zelda just looks like that on an HDTV—it’s a game that was not even designed to push the Gamecube graphically, much less the Wii.

edit: Chronicles of Riddick looks amazing...
But your Wii output settings are...what? Set to 480p and widescreen?
I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
