How long does it usually take to pay tickets? All I need to do is pay for a traffic ticket and also show proof of insurance since I wasn't carrying it on me at the time. I've got a test the same day at 9am and I'm scheduled to appear at 8:30am. Is there any way I could go in at like, maybe 8am and get it over with? Luckily the court is only 2 miles away from school. Thanks
The actual act of appearing before a magistrate to plead guilty to a minor traffic violation and pay a fine takes at most five minutes. However, every magistrate's office I have ever been behind schedule to some degree in some way, shape or form. There is absolutely no way to predict whether you will be able to appear before the magistrate at 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, etc., etc. Also, most magistrates I know tend to take their time in handling traffic tickets and place priority on early morning warrant requests, domestics, etc. You could be waiting for a long time if something important happens the same morning.
Call the magistrate's office and explain your situation. They may either let you come in early to handle your ticket, or will postpone your hearing for another day.

I just filed an online extension for 60 days--just to clarify, I didn't agree to pay in full, right? Just to appear at the later date so I can show proof of insurance and pay the other violation--since if I pay for that insurance violation it's like a $grand$ in total.

Just make sure you appear. I took advantage of the online thing to the extent of actually missing my court date (they push it out a long way and me being forgetful...) and a failure to show proof of insurance (like the cop didn't know I was insured what with his fancy do hickey computers and whatnot) cost me a grand.

That's all it said--"File for a 60 day extension to 11/19/2007." I checked the box and hit submit O_o
