I was looking at this site which is rather comprehensive, but it also seems kind of dated:

I just want some simplistic freeware that'll easily allow for stop motion with a USB webcam. Extra features are welcome but the only real necessities I would like are:
-Easy animation previewing
-"Onion-skinning" (having previous frames as overlays for consistency)
-Frame management (delete old frames, rearrange frames)
Exporting to AVI or something similar would be nice too but not necessary.
