HDTV problem (line accross screen in dark areas)

So I moved my Akai DLP tv to the basement, and it has a green line about a quarter away from the bottom of the screen that goes horizontally accross the screen. The thing is, it's only visible in dark areas (ie, playing Halo 3, the darker the area I look into the more obvious the line, it's the same on other inputs as well)
This has happened before and getting the tech to bring up the service menu and "Reset to Factory Settings" fixed it. So I looked up the tech's name and asked him for the code (and to my surprise he actually gave me it) and I tried the Reset to Factory Settings, and it didn't work.
So, being out of warranty I'd really rather not dish out money to get them to fix it, so I figured I'd ask if you guys had any ideas.
