Just watched a couple episodes for the first time and I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it. Having some ridiculously attractive female leads doesn't hurt things either.
Hope it does good/better enough in the ratings to be able to keep going.
edit: I also like how they seem to keep using Band of Brothers and Deadwood actors.
Was there another BoB guy aside from Sgt. Randleman?
Don't think so. They have used at least 3 Deadwood actors so far, though.
So I guess they didn't show this week's episode early in the US or something because this thread hasn't budged. They played it after Heroes on Global here in Canada tonight. Well, I just saw it and it was in top form but next week's preview was just, well, fuck.
It stated "Life Concluded" and it looks like Charlie's found the killer and grabs him and everything and well the show might be ending next week. Which sucks because damn is this show good.

Well it's only 8PM here so I haven't seen it yet but there are supposed to be two new episodes this week: the one tonight and then one on wednesday.

NBC recently picked up Life and ordered enough episodes for an entire season...so I'm guessing it's not the end of the show period. Most likely they meant the finale as for new episodes until the writers strike concludes or the apocalypse happens.
I have only seen up to the episode with the dead guitar player girl (I believe episode 9) but jesus this show just hasn't let me down with any episode. The characters just work with each other and Damien Lewis is a solid actor for any show to be built around.

Loved Gimme Shelter at the end of the last ep. The show has had some awesome music, that Gravenhurst song at the beginning of the season comes to mind.
I was wondering how they were going to finish this episode and keep the whole premise of the show intact and I'm happy the way they ended the mid-season finale. I must say that it caught me totally off guard at the end of the episode with Jack Reese calling Crews to say that the girl who Crews found shot in the house was the daughter of his friend. Overall though great way to end the first half of the season and I can't wait for the second half.
Oh and...
"Are you upside down or am I? I can't really tell from here." Classic.

That was my disappointment. I figured it out when I saw her sitting there bleeding. The scene before with the guy on the phone said he got into witness protection and got a family and a daughter. I figured she'd be ~10 at most given it'd only been 12 years, and she was at least 16. She didn't recognize that the bogeyman was her father. The end made up for it though since they used it to extend the long plot.

I sure as hell didn't figure it out. Also, she clearly had to be much older than 2 at the time of the murder, given that she was old enough for "she was on a sleep over" to have been a believable lie

That bothered me as well. That girl would have to be seriously fucked up to call someone who she watched kill her family "Dad." She was old enough to draw a pretty decent picture of the killer, but somehow still young enough to eventually accept him as her father? I'm just relieved that this didn't turn out to be a series finale. *knock on wood*
These last 2 episodes were just prime TV. Hey networks.. more of THIS please. The opening act of the second part was simple perfection.
How cute is that AV tech at the police station? I really, really need 50 million and a detective's badge.
Has it ever been outright said what Charlie did to the guard in prison to have the guards hate him so much?
The networks seem in for the long haul on the writers strike. They are burning off the shows and dipping into the shows / series that they taped and shelved a while a go.. Dueling Choirs ?? Its going to be nice to take a break from TV for a while.

Hey guys, this is going to sound stupid and uncaring. I'm in Omaha and due to the resent unpleasantness, the local channels all preempted the shows for local news. I really wanted to see that second part of Life. Did anyone by any chance tape it and would mind parting with it?
You are more likely to find it online vs someone having a vcr that taped it, and is now in the process of digitizing it for you to be transfered in the medium of your choice via email.
Honestly, are people really wondering how to watch a show after the fact ?
Am I, Alfred ?

I have no problem watching it online, the rest of my family though is a different matter.
Has it ever been outright said what Charlie did to the guard in prison to have the guards hate him so much?
It's been alluded to that he did some very bad things to other prisoners to defend himself (after several near death beatings), and then to protect Alfred Q Robin. That's why the guards were taunting him and talking about how they knew he was a con, they knew what he did, etc... in an early ep. They 'know' firsthand he's a time bomb waiting to go off
Well the way Charlie wielded the knife in the episode with the carjacker, and his general attitude with regards to fighting close quarters, he definately knew how to handle himself in jail.

There's also the fact that there's some stuff that's been insinuated about that guard attack - namely that the guard admitted to being paid to attack Charlie and disappeared soon after admitting that.
Well a lot of shows have discovered it's best to have an ongoing story, but you need to resolve parts of it. I mean no one wants to be the next xfiles or lost where the viewers just feel like they are being dragged along.

I found it interesting that the martial arts guy knew exactly where he was, but no other suspect did. I though that would have gotten a comment from Charlie at least.
Yeah decent partial season ender. I really liked the dialogue between his new partner and his old partner. Charlie also showed he isn't really a sissy "We took your gun". Also the titles for the two parter was a nice touch as well.
It's hard not to like Crews, I remember msnbc had an article saying he was unlikeable character but I just don't see it. He's a guy struggling to play within the law, all the while the people he's after keep using that against him.

It was some dumb ass at msnbc, they were calling for Life to go off the air. And I am thinking at 11 episodes in they haven't had a bad episode. The overall arc doesn't drag down the story, and the one off episodes are pretty good on their own, with a nice balance of character interaction and humor.

What an unbelievable set of bangers she has.

But in doing so, he's now gained two new objectives:
Charlie may be redeemed, but he's only won a battle. The war continues.

I liken Charlie to someone frozen and waking up in the future. There are a ton of new things, cool things. and he has $texas to get it all.

I liked the conversation he had about his time in prison. I also like when he's really angry he talks loud and happy. It's kind of creepy.
