Are PS2 component cables the best picture quality cables out there for the system?

I believe there actually is a rare VGA cable that came with the linux kit. No clue if it actually works with games though.

No, it won't - the PS2 will only output VGA in Linux mode. As for getting component cables, the PS3 ones should work with the PS2, since they're using the same multiout.

Anyone have any reccomendations for brands? I'm having a lot of trouble finding actual Sony brand component cables. My local Best Buy had one off brand but it was $65.00.

Buy the cheapest thing they have, it will still be very good quality. Cables are where the companies markup like, 1000's of a percent.

I tried monoprice.com last night and I didn't find any hits in their Product Catalog for 'Playstation'. Do you have a more direct link? I found a set at the local Sony Style store for only $19.99 and I can live with that if monoprice.com doesn't have them.

Well, now I have no idea what to say to that. It didn't come up with a search of Playstation 2 nor was Playstation 2 listed on their product catalog. Appreciate it!
