So yesterday I picked up a Sandisk U3 Cruzer Micro 1GB to use as a ReadyBoost drive with Vista. I saw ReadyBoost on the box so I picked it up. Well it doesn't work at all. When I plug it in, it asks me for a driver, even though the manual says it doesn't need one. I did some googling and apparently a lot of people are having trouble with these flash drives because of the U3 Launchpad or some nonsense. There are many ways to get rid of that, it seems, but none of them work for me. I've tried the U3 uninstaller and it says it can't find a U3 drive. I've tried the U3 installer -- same problem. I've tried installing the Windows 98 drivers for it (they're the only ones I can find) and it just says I don't need drivers with my operating system. So I'm pretty much out of ideas; how in the world can I get this thing working?
