Child's Play Charity - Help?

Hey forum,

I'm new 'round here, and I was hoping for a bit of guidance. See, I read PA regularly but don't really get into chatting with you folks. But this year, the allure of helping out with Child's Play was too great... so I decided to get involved. So now here I am trying to figure out where and how to get my word out to the Toronto, Ontario PA fan base about a cool event we're organizing... We're already in touch with the awesome Kristin Lindsey at PA to get on the official event list, but somehow that doesn't feel like enough.

Here's what I need help with:
a) What is the appropriate place to post a bulletin on the main forum?
b) We're doing a Guitar Hero karaoke night/pub night with small cover... would you come?
c) What other forums are there to spread the word? We're into the Facebook, but that's only getting us so far and the room can hold up to 70 people. Obviously we want to fill it for some epic Free Bird grandstanding.

If the collective intelligence of this board can help a brother out, I'd surely appreciate it.

Cheers!
Collusion Entertainment (kind of a syndicate of event planners)

Sounds like a good idea. You'll probably want to get in touch with Robert Khoo - he's in charge of PA's business and can let you know how best to proceed. I think his email is rkhoo@penny-arcade.com but I could be wrong. It might just be khoo@penny-arcade.com

He is in touch with the right people at PA. Kristin is the manager of all CP related PA stuff.

I would start by putting up flyers at the local colleges, an ad in Craigslist and see about an ad in the local free paper.

Don't count on just getting Arcadians to come.

Cheers guys, I like the Craigslist idea... we hadn't thought of that. The postering idea is also pretty good. We were going to just see if local game stores would put them up, but getting them into some university halls may work too.

    Thanks!
More ideas welcome, for Arcadians or otherwise.

I'm in Toronto, and am curious (though admit to slightly hermetic tendancies) to say the least. Child's Play is the one charity I look forward to contributing to each year, and to hear about something going on in my proverbial backyard is welcome news.

Basically, if you have a newsletter, consider me subscribed.
