man I had such high hopes, but goddamn those previews looked fucking terrible, but goddamn I love me some cohen brothers so muchly
I even watched Raising Arizona last night on the country music channel
ON THE COUNTRY MUSIC CHANNEL
no, it was pretty shit
which is why i'm excited to see a cohen bros film that is not terrible
well okay then
(man, they censored the shit out of Raising Arizona on CMT. Like, not even cleverly adding new words, they'd just cut the tape and splice it right after the swear. They even cut out the word "ass" so Nathan Arizona said "And if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bu/ahoppin". It was pretty craptacular.)
When was the last time you saw a decent fucking stephen king movie?
Be honest here.
Because the short story was kinda weak to begin with, and this looks like it is gunna be goddamn craaaaaaaaaaap.
you know
i was talking with a pal about this the other day, and i think king films get a bad rap
sure there's a couple bad ones like night flier and dreamcatcher
but
needful things, carrie, creepshow, the shining, firestarter, stand by me, the running man, it, misery, green mile, etc.
there are a damn shitpile of awesome king films
(and i liked the story)
running man had nothing to do with king, it was absolutely nothing like the book
green mile was hokey as sin
firestarter I never saw
and yeah, shining and stand by me and misery were great, IT was awesome for a TV movie but didn't age real well
but god damn, he's got some terrible fucking movies out there
the for-tv remake of the shining
the tommyknockers
the langoliers
that abortion he made for TV that was supposed to be The Stand
1408
that ridiculous fucking johnny depp one from a few years back, whatever it was called
fucking every other goddamn thing he's done
its a shame, really, because he really is one hell of a good writer when he's got good inspiration
the stand is one of my favorite fucking books of all goddamn time
but the dude's best movies are the ones where he really has no involvement in them whatsoever, or when they actually rewrite the story enough to make it work on film
SHawshank Redemption is a notable exception, though. That movie is just perfect from start to finish, and damn accurate to the original story.

yea the bad guy, Javier Bardem, has been amazing in everything he's been in. think of him as the spanish Kevin Spacey.
i mean when you watch the movie or if you've seen it already, would you think that motherfucker was spanish?
i've seen this movie like 3 times because people keep going and i just go with them. it's that good. there's a lot of little coen things in it. they like to show off how good they are writing/directing, but it doesn't take away from it.
it's like everyone in this movie is just in there to be badass or to be badassed upon.

PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
This is supposed to be really good, I'm seeing it tomorrow.
i cannot even decribe how excited i am to see it
especially after the ladykillers
PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
was ladykillers actually good?

I keep forgetting that's out
dude, the mist?
Fucking seriously?

I love you rank but you don't know your head from a donkey dick on this one
besides which 1408 was pretty good
and the director was behind the shawshank redemption AND the green mile
two very good stephen king films
That boner grew up and became Jimmy Carter. And now you know...the rest of the story.
Yeah Cohen
Looks so fucking good.
It was directed by Frank Darabont, who also made The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, both great movies based on Stephen King stories.
EDIT: Dang, I'm slow.
pretty good
and there were the films that may not be modern classics but are pretty fun like maximum overdrive, pet sematary, carrie, christine
I'm biased as shit though, Stephen King's my favorite author
running man had nothing to do with king, it was absolutely nothing like the book
green mile was hokey as sin
firestarter I never saw

that movie was tripe with a hangover
I mean how many tv miniseries are actually good
I mean, for every V there's about a hundred Dunes
and i was so excited for it to
i'm rather fond of both johnny depp and john tuturro
V
we had so many lego star ships with the V logo painted on them with model paint when I was a kid
i liked it
how would you do a movie about a hotel room that tries to kill a guy
secret window, yeah, that one
yeah, and tuturro is almost always amazing, and depp can do great work when he's got a good script and director
but holy damn that movie was overboiled turds
I mean
the ending, he bites into corn all dramatic-like
the big crazy ending is a dude eating motherfucking corn
way more sharks and the shortest car chase ever
if you honestly believe that, we got this wii thread you gotta see
i mean when you watch the movie or if you've seen it already, would you think that motherfucker was spanish?

it always reminds me of how I don't own one yet
Notable differences: Kubrick's version of The Shining was total shit, and I liked 1408.
he has a very thick spanish accent
are you retarded
I think I'm alone here on 1408, then.
But dude, I will fight you about The Shining. Kubrik's soundwork alone on that movie was fucking amazing.
