    not really

Yeah, this movie was simply amazing.

The majority of the people in the theatre I saw it in came out muttering "What the fuck did I just watch?" They should have just gone and seen Beowulf or something.

I kind of agree with (=3 on this one.

The movie has merits. Lots of really good ones. I can see why movie fags are crapping themselves over it. There is a lot of depth, the cinematography is beautiful, everything is done right.

It's just really, really boring. There are some great moments and exciting shootouts, but they are few and far between. At one point in the movie, they stop showing you the action scenes altogether, just giving you hints of what happened after the fact.

Yes I know it's not supposed to be Die Hard. It's a solid movie with a brain. But when you go with a group of friends on a snack food and caffeine high looking for something fun to watch, you're going to be disappointed like we were.

If you want something to go "take in" and jerk off your brain while you watch it, it would be a good choice. Just know what you're getting into.

I posted this in the topic in the D&D board and they were all like "lol ur dum"

I mean Children of Men was awesome from start to finish and never boring. Is it too much to ask that a movie be entertaining?

Yes, it is too much to ask a movie to throw constant mindless entertainment at you all the time, just because you have ADD.

Did you ever stop to think the reasoning behind WHY they aren't showing some of the action scenes? Or were you too busy getting the shakes from your 'caffeine high'.

    Idiot.

I'm sorry that you feel that all movies have to be all action all the time so you can turn your brain off and stop thinking.

Like I said, people like that should have just watched something like Beowulf.

Hey, I hear it's in 3D! Oooh, shiny! Now go get it!

I'm resisting the urge to get in a troll war here.

I really want to say "At least Beowulf SHOWED the action scenes."

That would be wrong, right guys?

Meh he's probably still going to try to explain the plot. There's nothing I can do to stop it at this point.

Yes, but the movie decides to just kind of ignore the original story, except for as a springboard.

Explain the plot? The plot of No Country isn't exactly hard to follow. There's really not much to explain about it.

Exactly. That's all I was trying to say. I'm not saying the movie was bad, it just wasn't what we were looking for. If I had known what it was, I would have just taken my movie friend or watched it at home so I could really take it all in. When the previews are throwing around words like "Hilarious" and "Intense," it's kind of misleading. We were expecting (rightfully so) something that was hilarious and/or intense, not a meditation on life/heroes/randomness/change/etc etc.

It was definitely a great movie. Everybody should see it. Just know what you're getting into.

The one thing that I really did not like in this movie was
the scene when Moss arrived at the hotel to wait for his fucking hot wife. The part between Moss talking to the chick lying by the pool and his death, they used a black fade away transition to another scene. At no other parts did they use the black fade away and it really ruined the experience for me. It seemed so out of place.

so a friend of mine is in this movie. Beginning of a scene, he's in a phone booth, and apparently his face is full-centered. I haven't seen it yet though.

    no.

and of course you don't remember him. He was basically a featured extra.

It's just that if you go to see it again you might remember and see him.

Like transformers, a friend of mine runs outside of a cafe and says "This is cooler than Armageddon!" or some shit, I dunno.

To be honest, the main reason I wanted to see this movie was because of the Coen name attached to it. There were some funny moments, some intense moments, but it could never be accused an unrelenting. Whenever it started moving too fast, Tommy Lee Jones was always right there to say "Now hold on here. Let's talk about life and change and heroes for a little while."

why don't you cry about it
