Resistance is fucking hard at times, due to a little fault in the AI no less, they know no fear, they never flinch while you shoot at them.

Other than that I tend to play games for fun rather than to beat them

I do get pissed off at Soul Calibre though.

I beat Viewtiful Joe on Ultra V-Rated, with all the characters. (Well, not Dante - I have the GC version)

Oh, and I've beaten all three Halos on Legendary, single player - though really, it's only Halo 2 that's impressive.

Beating the original release of Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die mode. That game fucking rocked, and I cannot wait for 4.

The day I beat Abadox, when I was five/six years old, was absolutely glorious. The first time I got to the final level where you have to escape I died and that was it, game over... and it was so soul crushing. Eventually I got the courage to try the whole game again (as you had to), I also had no choice either because it was one of the two games I owned in 1990. You also can't beat the freaky fish-eye boss in (I believe) the fourth level.

I just killed three Wraiths on Halo 3 by myself using nothing but 1 plasma and 2 spike 'nades. On Heroic.
Got lucky with the first and managed to get behind it close enough to jump and blow it up. The second one I took on head on, jumped onto the front of it where the gunner couldn't get me and melee'd him to desth, then tossed a grenade at the other, killing his gunner. Then I blew up the first with my last grenade and punched the last one to death. Never fired a single shot.

No. Lies. I refuse to believe it. My childhood refuses to believe it. Furthest I got was maybe level 3?

I suck at video games. My greatest achievement was beating Leo on regular difficulty in Viewtiful Joe.

I beat Battletoads with no warps as a kid. Of course I was a bit OCD with my games and any game I owned I had to beat.*
I played it recently...couldn't get past stage 2. My gaming skills have apparently abandoned me as I've aged. Hell, I got a Game Over against Metal Man in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Metal Man! I used to demolish him without even getting hit!

*However, there are two games that no matter how much of my childhood I poured into them, I never conquered them. Bill & Ted's Excellent Game (never could figure out how to beat the first damn level!) and Back to the Future (accursed bartending level! Burn in hell you stupid jocks that kill me in one hit!).

Hey I'm good at games too, I think.

I beat A Boy and His Blob, Bionic Commando, and Batman on the NES.

I haven't beaten many games since those days.

I think S-ranking 6 out of 7 X-missions on Trauma Center: Under the Knife counts. Funny thing: I could S-Rank Savato just fine. Paraskevi (the tapeworm from hell) always gave me more trouble. Hell, even completing the game gave me a great sense of satisfaction, given that I had to use two styluses to do so, and I could only try for fifteen minutes at a time: after that, my heartrate went up so high my hands would shake, and I'd need to take thirty minutes to catch my breath again and get back into the groove.

Same with the Ouendan games: completed Insane on all 3 games, and I'm now working on S-Ranking every single mission. Yes, including the Easy missions that are, in some ways, harder to S-rank because the beats don't match the song half the time. My completion of Sekai wa Sore wo Ai to Yobundaze on Insane was gorgeous. That song still fills me with a sense of awesomeness and satisfaction when I hear it.

Yes, there are people who've done better, but ya know what? Fuck that noise. I earned my A-rank on Countdown, and my A-rank vs. Paraskevi's X-mission.

10 million points on Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.

I don't know, it's the only game I've ever felt victorious against.

I don't know how difficult these games are compared to what the rest of you are talking about, but they were victories for me:

I beat and unlocked everything on StarFox 64. (And then my brother erased it or gave it away or something... :x )
I also beat and unlocked almost everything in Goldeneye. I would have gotten the rest of the cheats, but getting a cheat for double rocket launchers seemed pointless when I already had the cheat for all weapons.
My friend and I sat down one weekend and finished lost levels. (on the SNES super mario world cart) Some of those levels were ridiculous. (And apparently there was some way to get more levels, but we felt like we'd done enough finishing it just once)

Oh yeah, also beat Gears of War on insane difficulty a few months ago.
