You know you're playing too many video games when. . .
Played Thief straight for 2 days with only breaks for eating and sleeping - when I was walking my dog, I subconciously skulk around the shadows and try to avoid bright areas as much as possible.
Like many people, I've experienced the two effects of playing too much Guitar Hero.
The first being looking at something else right after staring at the notechart for a few songs, and having it look like stationary things are moving.
The other is the tetris effect where you see notecharts when you're not playing. I'll even see notecharts for any song I'm listening to later on.
When you're out and about at the grocery store and you seriously think "it's okay, I can hearth".
You wonder if you can spot an Alliance or Horde player just by looking at people.
After playing GTA, you drive like 20 mph faster than normal (I think everyone does this).
When you're out and about and you hear various sounds from World of Warcraft. Usually the high pitch noises more often than not (I think this has something to do with your brain rationalizing sounds heard at a faint level).
You also play too many games when you buy games regardless if you're hooked on one right now. Like mediocre games that should've been a rental but "OMG SWEET its only 15 bux!1!". Then it sits on your shelf for like 4 months.

Like many others here, I'm a pretty big Resident Evil 4 junkie. I'm in the marching band at my university, and many of us were waiting in the stadium parking lot a few hours before the game. At this time the lot was rather empty and so the red oil drum in the middle of the pavement stood out. In a split second I had assessed the situation: Object class: explosives. Nearby targets: none. Procedure: Wait until enemy group enters blast radius, then fire.
I also can't count the number of times I've been looking for something and thought, "Oh, I'll just ctrl+F it!"
Sometimes, after a heavy session of gaming, I used to think to my self that I should just skip all my work, because I can just reload if everything goes to shit.
Most of this shit doesn't happen to me when I'm awake. I do recall once, though, lying in bed and being terribly scared of the neighbor's kids. I was half-asleep (little bastards woke me up with their giggling and shit) after having just played Baldur's Gate 2 for like 20 hours straight.
I was seriously scared out of my goddamn mind. I kept trying to "hit the spacebar" and pause life, to come up with a battle plan, but no can do. Just lie there in terror until sleep happens.
In the first few weeks of my WoW addiction just after it launched (which I've thankfully broken), I saw some roadkill on the street driving over to my girlfriend's apartment and for a brief moment seriously wondered what loot it had dropped. No joke.

I've done that but instead of loot I was wondering what kind of leather I could get from skinning it.
Occasionally after playing an FPS for x amount of hours, I'll get up to do something and wonder where the hell my weapon went.
Also, after playing Metal Gear all night long, whenever someone started talking to me the next day I heard it like it was a codec conversation and talked like Snake.

I will admit, and it's one that does actually scare me, the quicksave/quickload thought process I sometimes get is really inappropriate.
If only I came with an F9 key.
Also, me and my housemates all try and come up with the best uses of portals, and just after it first came out, I kept trying to use portals for shortcuts around my house...
Ha ha, me and my brother try doing that all the time as well. Way too many awesome/deadly possibilities. Dang, they'd be so much fun to play with. Why, reality, why?!
Also, I've had waaaaay to many Brawl dreams that what can be considered healthy, like a dozen or two. Ranging from several years ago (before the name was released) to just this week. And it's a different game every time, and often very fun to play.

Truth. I'm uhh, glad I don't do that anymore.
Oh man, this quote tastes so totally limey
Nothing is more fucking annoying than to see Tetris blocks piling up every time you close your eyes.

Seriously, everything in life is improved with the circus theme.

I actually experienced that a while ago, looking for an installation CD for some servers at work.
