I don't expect it to run perfectly on high settings, low is fine for me So my specs are as follows
Windows XP (possible dual boot vista in near future)
Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20GHz(dual core)
RAM: 2046MB
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT

Processor is fine, RAM is already at the maximum useful capacity until you are ready to go 64bit Vista, so it really all comes down to the video card. I haven't followed ATI performance too much recently, so I'd just looks up a Crysis demo benchmark on that card if I were you. There is a Crysis thread you can ask in.

I got this on the HD2600. Keep in mind that this is in DX10 (which ATI seems to have more problems with than Nvidia) in what I'm going to assume is the computer-raping "Very High" setting. Turn it down to low or medium, bring down the resolution to something more moderate, and it can be playable.

The best way to find out, assuming you are willing to take in a 1.77 GB file, is to check out the demo.

ATI cards have to brute force their way with Crysis. None really match the Nvidia counterparts for performance. Just the way the game works I think.

There is something wrong with the Crysis game engine. The game ran awful on both of my computers, as well as the gaming kiosk in Fry's Electronics. Scaling down the settings didn't seem to help. The game is choppy even on the computers Gametrailers used for their review.

Try looking at this online benchmark comparison site:
    http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10213/

It's been pretty accurate for me.

    It works beautifully for me.

    Get a 8800GT and 4gb RAM and a Core2Duo

With the latest drivers, Q6600 @ 2.7ghz, 4 gig of fucking fast corsair and a 768MB GF8800GTX it runs nice at-

    1680x1024
    No AA
    No AF
Everything Very High except ; Textures - High, Particles - High, Physics - High.

Runs Pretty Well. Not 60+ well but about 35-45 on average.

not to threadjack, but I have a nvidia 7950, 2 gigs of ram, and a 3600 amd single core, is the single core holding me back right now? Im thinking about ugprading because new games just arent playing too hot now. I would say the video card is more then moderate and could handle games at higher settings (the witcher, tf2, etc) if the processor was up to par....

Wouldn't it just be easier to download the demo and see for yourself?

Eh I don't want to hijack the thread but was curious and went ahead and downloaded the demo.

The demo runs passable on medium but in some instances the movement controls suddenly go sticky and won't stop moving to a certain direction and doesn't stop until I do random movement key jabbing. Any ideas? I'm not running any custom keyboard or key binding software.
