Berber carpet repair - BAD DOG! - pic added

So my little hyper active 1 year old dog decided to nibble on our berber carpet where the carpet meets the hard wood of our kitchen. She pulled up lots of thread and now it looks like little orphan annie is stuck in our floor.:x

When you pull the thread out of the way there is a clear triangular spot (about the size of your palm) where you can see down to the subflooring. Aside from redoing the whole room, what are my options? Is there repair for this. I have about a 6'X3' swatch of extra carpet it my attic.

Here is a pic:

You could always get a slightly wider threshold. Or you might be able to pull up the current threshold and move it closer to the carpet to cover it up. Without a picture I can't be sure that either would be acceptable.

I'll try to upload a pic tonight. I didn't think about the threshold.

You may be able to patch a little bit in and have it look more or less alright. You could also tastefully cover the transition with a rug. I'm not aware of a way to repair the carpet as is to look like normal.
