I can't say I disagree with the choice, either. I've not played many Live Arcade games this year, but I really liked both Catan and Carcassonne.
Speedball 2 had better win something, too.
* Best Overall Arcade Game
-- Pac-Man CE
* Best Classic Game
-- Castlevania
* Best Original Game
-- Pac-Man CE
* Best Family Friendly Game
-- Pac-Man CE
* Best Competitive Multiplayer Game
-- Bomberman Live
* Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game
-- Heavy Weapon (wasn't nominated but you can write-in any '07 candidate you wish)
Pac-Man CE was the biggest surprise of XBLA from last year. So great.
Best Overall Arcade Game - Heavy Weapon
Best Classic Game - Jetpack Refuelled (I actually really liked this game, nearly went with Castlevania, but they hadn't really added enough newness for my vote)
Best Original Game - Pac-Man CE
Best Family Friendly Game - Bomberman Live (got quite a crowd of us around the TV once, was so much fun, just like the good old days)
Best Competitive Multiplayer Game - Bomberman Live (total chaos and win)
Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game - Heavy Weapon (I can't get enough of 4-player War Party. So awesome, probably my favourite drunken wind-down game after something like Halo 3 or Gears)
Also, props to Space Giraffe for being this years "Best Total Headfuck Game I Like That Everyone Else Hates" :twisted:
Also, 2007 was great, better than 2006. But already, 2008 looks set to blow 2007 out the water. So much awesome.
Edit: Woo Lunker voted co-op Heavy Weapon too! :^:
'07 was a huge year for XBLA -- it really stood out as one of the main reasons I picked up a 360 last year -- and already I have more XBLA titles than full-retail discs on my radar for things to buy in '08.
Anyway, I voted Pac-Man:CE in everything that it made sense to. Castlevania for best classic game, Heavy Weapon for best cooperative game, and Puzzle Quest for best competitive game (okay, there are better competitive games, but I wanted to give Puzzle Quest props somewhere). Wish I could have stuck in some praise for GripShift, but c'est la vie.
And new downloadable content for Mutant Storm Empire? That came out of nowhere, but assuming it's something cool like a bunch of new levels, I'm excited; I really liked that game (although Omega Five is even better).

* Best Overall Arcade Game: Fuckin' WORMS.
* Best Classic Game: TMNT 1989
* Best Original Game: I liked the demo for the bug game, but otherwise can't think of one for here.
* Best Family Friendly Game: Uno
* Best Competitive Multiplayer Game: WORMS
* Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game: Alien Hominid
So, nyah.
Wait, Jetpack? Is that old-school Lode Runner-style Jetpack?
I guess I'm pretty out of step with most of the forum... :P

It has been nicely updated, graphically and gameplay-wise, plus a two player mode was thrown in. The guns are pretty cool when powered up, and later levels get craaazy. I enjoyed it, for what it was worth.
Here are some pics.
I actually only bought Symphony and the PoP remake, I think.

Steam ID : rwb36, Twitter : Werezompire,
Catan and Carcassone would like to have a chat with you.
I'd love to see more board games show up! It doesn't have to be those "geeky German" ones either. Hell, I'd settle for packs of games like Monopoly, Risk, Scrabble, etc. Also, I'd love to see more games which can support a party atmosphere (4 players on 1 screen). Granted, not all games support it because of secrecy (like Catan, knowing what cards your opponents hold is crucial), but the more the better.
- Don't add me, I'm at/near the friend limit

Castle Crashers, where are you?
Ah, not the Jetpack I was thinking of, then. I remember playing a game with the same name that was pretty much a semi-clone of Lode Runner that let you fly if you picked up fuel, along with some other changes. This seems to be a sidescroller of some sort?
