I made this sketch of my dad a couple days ago.

It turned out (reasonably) alright, so I decided it was a good candidate to try out this digital inking thing all the kids are doing these days, and since I had made (what I thought to be) a fairly accurate recording of the light on him, I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to smack down some flat shades on him. I think now I was wrong.

Any critiques and suggestions you have to offer would be very appreciated. I'm especially looking for suggestions for how to move from a hand drawn sketch to inking it in Photoshop.

Information that may be helpful: original sketch took about 5-10 minutes. Worked on the digital for about 30-45 minutes.
