So, I have an AIM screen name but don't really want to install AIM again. Are there any multi chat programs that support more than one AIM screen name at a time?

    In descending order of preference:
    Pidgin: http://www.pidgin.im/ (formerly GAIM)
    Trillian: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/
    Miranda: http://www.miranda-im.org

Google turned up a couple more I have no experience with if you don't like those...google "messenger multiple protocol".

Pidgin is the way to go man, a hundred percent.

If you've got a mac though, you need to use Adium

Pidgin is looking nice right now, pretty easy to use.

I use Trillian Pro on my work machine, Trillian Astra (woo alpha tester) on my home machine, and Pidgin on my work laptop (running ubuntu). I like them all equally, but Trillian (both versions) has many more features, while Pidgin loads unbelievably quick.

This might not be what you are looking for, but some friends told me to try Meebo. It's kind of like a window that supports opening multiple programs like AIM or ICQ etc without needing to install those programs I believe.

The trouble with Meebo is that it doesn't make the window blink when you get a message.
