Howdy. I made a thread not too long before about running a
Changeling chronicle. A lot's happened since then, and I decided it would be better for me to run a canned campaign (I bought one) for pretty cheap, and it's damned good if I must say so. This is preferable to me as it let's me adapt to working more and whatnot, and it gives up a vital jump-off point for a bigger game. It also gives me a chance to get into a groove with the game, and a rapport with my players.
For this I would ask for 4 players, preferably newer players, as I'm a newer story teller and well... you get the idea. Old favorites can take a shot if the player options are loose.
Timeframe: Besides posting here over the next few days, I will be reading the scenario over. Feel free to make up a character and slap it down here. I will pick from the ones that.....amuse me. I might let others vote on the top 4 or who knows. I'll need at least a few days to get my life together AND to figure out my new schedule for work. For now, shoot for Sunday Afternoons and we can do one-shots for individual characters as they please. This isn't saying we're starting Sunday, but that will be the most likely time for play.
Here's the link for the Campaign:

Changeling: The Fear-Maker's Promise
At twilight a young boy chases a rabbit into a thicket and is never seen again.
At midnight, a mother hears the sudden cry of her newborn girl on the baby monitor... and when she enter the room to check on her, the child is gone, the crib is overturned, and the room is filled with red moths.
Toward morning, twelve-year old twins finally decide to confront the monster that lurks in their closet, and in doing so are snatched away by a pair of hands sticky with silk spun by greasy worms.
Perhaps its time to put an end to these abductions.
But is the cost of stopping them too high?
Is there cold comfort to be found in the sacrifice?

I believe you get it free by choosing court. It's like a membership card. I'll look in a few after my shower.
It reflects you're characters' ability to distinguish between what's real and what isn't. When it drops low enough you're character is basically living out experiences from their time in Faerie, or at the very least, bat-shit crazy. It's like acid/mescaline/angeldust trips flavored in nightmare. You'll get to see first hand what a low Clarity Changeling looks like, and it isn't pretty.
Even Changelings with a standard Clarity will see echoes of Faerie from time to time. A smiling face (or skull) may peak out at you from a rock, but upon closer inspection it was only a shadow etc. When the Motley is together I'll probably just have standard dialog for everyone. In Play by Post singeplayer, I hope to flavor it more to your character's level of Clarity.
OK. This primer we're doing may actually shift the Locations. Don't think that where I start this thing is where we may end up location wise. They provide personalities but I'm unsure yet whether I'll use them or write my own. This same goes for the city.
SO if you're unsure of your Court ideas, don't worry you might not have to decide until after this is done. In the meantime pick the one you like most and I'll let you re-tinker your character depending how things go. With my first Changeling, I made an Elemental and liked his theme, but realized after a few sessions went by that he should have been a Darkling, and I'd like to give you guys the chance to change things if you're unsure. The CONCEPT is what really matters.

John ‘Father’ Finley stand’s 6’0” feet tall and is of medium build; his Mask shows him as a man in his early 40s with blue eyes and dark brown hair that’s going gray at the temples. Glasses frame John’s face and he is almost never seen wearing anything but a suit or a sweater vest. John often smokes a pipe when he gets the chance. As far as Changelings go, John’s Mien is fairly mundane; he becomes black and white, giving him the appearance of an actor on an old television show.
John was abducted to Arcadia while waiting for his wife to give birth. A young boy, who would become his Keeper, Billy, asked John to help him find his Dad . John did not realize his mistake until Billy shouted; “I found you!” and the world became a cheesy, monochrome slice of Americana.
John’s time in Arcadia instilled him with a deep sense of responsibility and self-assurance. If John failed to meet Billy’s expectations of a perfect Dad (wise, patient, and a strong authority figure) he would be brutally punished (“Your doing it wrong!”). The world that John inhabited was one based off of an old sitcom, with all their background music, scene changes, and impossibly clean and wholesome environments. The worst part of John’s stay however, had to have been the lack of rest. John never slept and rarely ate, with the closest thing that he ever got to a break was when he occasionally got to sit down and look over a newspaper.
John managed to escape from Arcadia when during a camping “episode” he saw the Hedge through the underbrush. He distracted Billy by telling him to help his mother unpack the car while he set up the tent. While Billy was gone he ran for the color and freedom that had been gone from his life for far too long.
Also give a thought to their experience in Faerie, the sort of general horrors they were exposed to. You don't have to come up with page after page of Durance info, just a starting point for me to work with. The same goes for your character, leave opened plot holes that we can work on and build off during play. A character wrapped up tight is a character with no where to go. Don't want to think about your family/fetch yet? Don't.

Also who hear wants me to look at soundscapes via Youtube? I stumbled onto a cache of the Medievil 1 and 2 soundtracks:

Does anyone know if that City of the Damned Vampire book would be useful to plan out the court territories and such?
Nice. Here's some questiosn you should roll around in your head too, to help flush him out as time goes on:
What were some of the punishments he was subjected too? He seems like he will be an anchor of sanity for the Motley, but what are some of his odder tendencies? He seems like a perfect candidate for Vocalization. Ntm high strung as shit. Would that be how lower Clarity levels would manifest? Were there any goblins or changelings besides his Keeper and himself? Aunts, uncles, "extras" etc?
What is the name of that Twilight zone

What is the name of that Twilight zone---with the little boy who controls the town? And turns the guy who speaks up to him at the end into a Jack in the Box?

You're next stop.....THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

EDIT: FAgent should I take this as your own interest in playing or no?
Wow, I've seen an episode similar to that one before; I wonder if it was a sequel of some sort? Unlike the kid in that one, Billy expected a stern talking if he got into mischief, followed by a pat on the head and being sent off to get into more mischief. That was basically the atmosphere John was in though.
I was thinking that in low Clarity situations, vocalization and if it got even worse, narcissism, would be his derangements.
As for other Changelings, John thinks that the mom was probably a Changeling, but if she was she must have been their much longer then him, because she behaved so well she never got punished. Billy's best friend, Arnold, was definitely a Changeling. Arnold was Billy's main plaything and he received the brunt of the abuse.
As for punishments, usually everything grew really large so it seemed like John was the child, then Billy would do various things, like for example: whip him with a fanged, snakelike belt, or stick him in the cellar where rats would gnaw off his skin.
Maybe Something like [Sign Up] or [Desperately Looking for Players] at the beginning of the title?
