okay, so two issues in to Peter Tomasi's Nightwing and I'd say it's already better than the book's ever been

I'm not a big fan of Rags Morale's art, but Tomasi's writing is friggin perfect for the book. I love that he's setting Nightwing up to be big time instead of "just there". He's embracing everything Dick learned from Batman while keeping him in line with Dick's character. He's not becoming an a-hole recluse like Bruce did. The scene with Wally was excellent. It seemed like so much stuff happened in the book and there wasn't even any action.

The only thing I thought was weird was his
    hang-glider. I think a powered suit would've been cooler

but dang if Tomasi isn't bringing Nightwing back to being one of my favorite characters.

although i'm not sure if it's morales' pencils that bug me or the terrible inking

    probably both

yeah, this was his second issue

i was on the fence about Nightwing because the book hasn't been anything special since Chuck Dixon left

but man, this is even better

    i haven't read fables since volume 8

I keep meaning to read 9, but i'll just wait until 10 comes out and get them both

10 sure is taking its sweet time, though (although it does go up to this current issue)

I was just relieved that Fly got a happy ending - I was expecting the worst, but then someone pointed out to me that, way back in #24 or 25, Willingham had Fly playing with Pinnochio's Wooden Soldiers, so I sort of knew that he'd maybe be OK. Maybe. But I'm glad he's with RRH, and really everything else about the book.

Anyhow, I hope Willingham/Buckingham stay on the book until I'm dead, and I hope James Jean always does the covers.

Teen Titans Year One #2 was great as usual, especially the bits with Aqualad.

I would have been disappointed, but
If Fly had elected to become the New Emperor, with a wooden army of freckle-faced soldiers, I would have accepted it. I mean, yeah, it would have been an awful ending, but you have to admit it looked really cool.

She is leaving?! Dammit! So, she dropped BoP, Tranquilty and now Atom for Wonder Woman? I am digging her WW, but not at the expense of so many great books. The New Atom was one of the few DC characters I gave a crap about.

So I've only read TT:Y1, JSA and Uncanny but I have to say just about everything in TT:Y1 was awesome. Sight gags with Aqua Lad...yes please.

I also really enjoyed Uncanny, making Scott more of a bad ass is always good in my book and I've really come to enjoy the Scott/Emma relationship.

Oh I also forgot did anyone else see the "3rd times a charm...Mike Choi naked!" headline on the magazine? I laughed pretty hard at that.

I do find it amusing that they've made aqualad even more useless than the common perception of aquaman.

    That was my MotW runner-up.

I am loving Moon Knight. I don't know which I like better; that they portray MK as such an insane psychopath, or that Huston and the new guy do it so well.

Well, he is an insane psychopath. I think the only thing that's changed from his old books is the degree/way he's insane.
Sure, he may not change names like he used to, but he makes up for it by beating the shit out of everyone.

So far, my Line of the Week is the end of Ultimate Human
    "I don't like him when he's angry."
The last Punisher MAX was damn good, too.

EDIT: It's been a few weeks since I went, so I'm only halfway through my stack.
But goddamn I like the way Moon Knight is digging up the past. I need to read both of the Essentials again.

His registration interview was the first time I really went "Wow, this dude's batshit nuts."
But the last few pages of the new issue? Blew that out of the water.

Other than Moon Knight, my moment has to be The Twelve.
There's nothing specific about it, it's just really good.
