Yes the title of this thread may suggest a new video game from Valve, but it is more a ridiculous statement by Jack Thompson. With no idea or information on whether the Illinois campus shooter had ever played video games , good old Jack claims he did, thanks to brainscans from Harvard. When is this guy ever going to seriously have an open debate with an actual representative in the gaming industry ?

You know I don't really mind his anti-game ranting anymore, I largely just view him as benign these days.

But when he has to jump on every shooting like a frigging vulture and turn it into his own platform it just ticks me off no end. People die and he has to be one of the first people there to try and get his rant in.

I didn't know McCain said that, learn something new every day. I'd have picked him for a video game supporter, if he thinks we're all turning into bloodthirsty psychos, why doesn't he want that to carry us through his 100 year + war he's got planned? Putting "realism" in the same sentance as Counterstrike is pretty stupid. Anyone can pick up a gun, aim and pull the trigger. Everybody knows the basics, it just takes a fucking nutball to go and shoot someone.

Videogames can't prepare you for killing. I've played alot of games and even I flinch and have to look away putting down an animal on the farm I lived on. Doing it to a person would be nerve wrecking.

If anyone was to look back into the history of any of these school shooters you can guarantee they were social outcasts that were shunned and picked on constantly.They just could not handle it and happened to have guns.
