In this GDC period and after a few months of total silence many just forgot it. But some (like me) were still waiting for it with a bit of fear that the project would have been canceled. But it seems it's alive.
Today YNK opened the new website for the english version of R.O.H.A.N. online (and it looks real nice too).
It's possible to register for the newsletter and a (pretty limited at the moment) message board. It's not MUCH, but at least it shows that the project is alive and that the closed beta could be around the corner.

For the ones that don't know, Rohan online is a pretty nice asian free MMORPG that had quite a lot of success in Korea and expecially in Japan, it sports quite a deep PvE, an extensive guild vs guild system and some very nice graphics (with definately eyecandish characters by the way...)
Having tried the original version I definately think it's worth a try, but if you wanna see more there are quite a few nice vides on youtube.

I'm kind of late to the party, but as far as I can see it doesn't use the same engine as L2.
I'm installing it right now to play in the 'Closed' beta, hopefully it'll be enough to keep me from boredom for 2 or 3 hours.

I'm pretty damn impressed.
I logged on, expected a traditional grindfest and what nots. First thing I noticed was that they had apparently gave it WASD movement that was actually pretty fluid. This instantly approved my view of the game. Soon afterwards though, I realized that there isn't a z-axis so jumping is a no go. So I start the tutorial, blahblah regular old crafting guide, skills, and whatever else. Once I started the combat side of the tutorial however, things picked up.
Also, the stat points and skills work more like Diablo's system except once you reach level 50 there's a 2nd 'part' of your class. There's also apparently a third part of your class, but I'm not sure what level you can start putting skill points into it. Aside from that though, it's pretty much normal fare.
I'll probably play more of it tonight and over the weekend.

I create an account, go to verify and it just refreshes the verification page. There's a post on the forums about it, with no details other than a vague "we're working on it".
If I go to check whether the details I entered are still available, they are. There is no way to do a password recovery or request another verification e-mail.
