Auto insert ID3 Tag info?

Searched, and skimmed the accumulated knowledge sticky...

I would like to have ID3 tags automatically found and applied to mp3s in my iTunes library for CDs that have been ripped before the tags were applied...

I am on a MAC.

Is there a free solution for this?

Assuming you just want to use file names/locations to populate the ID3 tags:
--If you already have Fink set up, EasyTag will do what you want (Fink package info).
--This thread points to TriTag, which is free and Mac-native, and looks like it will work too.
