The warp to Safehouse function is super useful.

Having just gone into the Badlands it's really awesome to hit some big open plains. Although Dust was a bit too dusty in places so far I'm really enjoying the feeling of roaming around Mars.

While I too enjoyed some of the open area dune buggy action, my favorite environment was still Eos with the Light Walker. Running along the top of a glass walkway in a 10-Ton RoboZoidberg Suit and hearing/watching the whole thing just buckle underneath my "feet" never got old

....well, until I ran out of walkways :P

Man, I've got 94 out of 104 missions done, and having completed the game, I'm trying to work through what's left. Problem is, I don't know what ones I still have to do, entirely. All the available missions are showing with darker icons, apart from the house arrests (even though I'm sure I did them all, but I may have missed some), and I know I skipped a lot of convoy/informant missions, but it's a bit of a pain waiting for them to come round in the cycle again. Hurm.

I'm completely blown away by the vehicular fun. From the controls of the cars/jeeps to the masses of mounds to fly off. I'm just enjoying driving randomly around over small hills.

My favorite was to drive around in a tank and blow up all the idiots who didn't realize tank beats everything.

There's tanks too? I've only just reached Dust and, as I mentioned earlier, was completely gobsmacked by the amount of freedom given, made a change from Parker's walled in roads. Although they were just fine as is to be honest.

Also, I get shot to bits everytime a soldier is near, even with just the hammer drawn. What gives? Are certain areas within the sectors off limits?

The alert system is a little off. The EDF are supposed to give you a warning if you're approaching a restricted area, but I rarely hear it unless I'm on foot. Plus they seem to attack you just for driving along the main road near a military checkpoint. I wouldn't rely on it too much, and it's fairly easy to escape, even in the later missions with the gunships so longas you can shoot them down/find a speedy vehicle.

Oh yeah 2 types of tanks (turret normal and rocket) and a combat walker that also has rockets.

Only issue I could see with that is the enemies would never really get you, they have serious problems when you are in an elevated position, though those big plasma shooting fuckers I'd love to gank.

The way the gunships crash in this game is amazing. I love when you clip a wing and it starts to spin out of control before diving into the ground.

Oh yeah, they extended their physics engine to the vehicles in such a cool way. Like I think its cool you can flip a turret vehicle and it will kill the turret gunner.

I rammed a jeep so hard the guy in the turret whip-lashed so bad he screamed once and slumped over dead. <3 This game.

You can hear the warnings if you approach very slowly with an EDF soldier nearby and you don't enter the 'strict alarm perimeter" around the building. You really should try, they say some funny stuff. "SHUT YOUR MOUTH FUCKER, OR I WILL SHUT IT FOR YOU". The use of the f-bomb in this game is pretty liberal if you listen for it.

As for driving around in tanks: The "raid defense" radio guerilla action in Dust puts you at a big housing complex. If you don't block off the entrance with a car (although this is recommended for most defenses), the second vehicle to arrive will be a standard tank, and it will park just outside of the perimeter. If you blow a whole clip of Arc Welder into it, the driver will die, and you can get in and pull the tank inside the perimeter before the "out of bounds" clock runs down. Then you can sit there and demolish every APC that approaches the building before it even gets close. I let a couple show up before pulling the trigger and landed a 15 kill streak with no problem. Makes me wish the morale counter went higher - mine is always hitting 100.
