Somehow I think you're reading into this music too much. Do I have to have aspberger's?
If you don't think music can be emotional, that it may require several listens for all of the layers to sink in, you may be lacking what some may call a 'soul'.

Refusing to be reasonable, yes. But I don't think his posting is really out of the norm considering how conversations about art tend to go in this thread, so no, not really trolling.

Did Fuzzy say that Radiohead is Generic and Bland?

    Really?

I'm not a big fan, but they sure don't have anything close to resembling a normal sound.

happy shopper. bouncing ball. city sun. think i found the real stuff.
i think i found the real stuff. white crumbs across your bed.

Ok. So since you buy that there can be more to an art than the surface, why do you suppose it is a keen notion to dismiss something as bland/generic when there is a host of people insisting that there is some real substance there that you can derive from listening to the albums a few times, especially when nuanced complexity can easily be mistaken for mediocrity?

I have to kind of agree with Fuzzy. At first I liked them, and I bought all their albums, but then I stopped listening to them when I realized that almost every song from Kid A onward was basically one riff repeated many times. I like experimental music, but fuck minimalism in the ass. I still enjoy listening to The Bends and OK Computer every now and then because it's well written and has some depth, but so much of their modern work feels so simplistic.

Radiohead borrows heavily from grunge, space-rock, noise rock, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Robert Fripp, and probably others that I can't think of at the moment, depending on what era you are looking at. So I can see where Fuzzy is coming from on that too, even though I can't think of a group that sounds exactly like them with all of their synthesized influences.

    My image is more cartoonish.

I'm mildly traumatized to realistic kitten-death due to Untraceable having a horrible kitten murdering scene at the beginning.
