So, I installed Ubuntu after formatting my hard-drive. Everything seems to work great except for the fact that I am forced to use Firefox, which I avoid using mostly due to a few nagging issues. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make Firefox open a new tab when I enter a url?
I think i know what you're getting at. You mean like, when you go to the address bar and type in a url, you want it to put that in a new tab? Unfortunately that's not how it works. (the option I recommended is for clicking links, not entering urls)
I use ctrl+t to open new tabs. It's really not that hard.
Under TabMixPlus menu, hit the events menu, then Tab Opening tab. At the bottom are a bunch of options for opening new tabs, including from URLs in the address bar.

I'm sure there's a way to do exactly what you ask for though.
New pages should be opened in: [X] A new tab.
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
I have that clicked, it doesn't work.
