How do I access the level editooooooooor
pleeeeeeeaaaaaase
You need to install the editooooooooooor
I never asked for this!
It's pretty easy to snipe that guy from the side you must have jumped from using a normal silenced rifle. Just lie down in stealth in the bushes near, then switch to strength (hence why the bushes) and wait until the "breathing cycle" passes over his head.
So I sniped them. With a rocket launcher.
Bewwwwwmmmmmm.
Oh yeah. We the bad guys. We got laser sights on our submachine guns and we the baaaaaad guys. Strut strut.
I did the rocket launcher thing there too.
I'm gonna record more video tonight. I want to do that level.
Resident 8bitdo expert.
Resident hybrid/flap cover expert.
See how neat this game is. There's something for EVERYONE, but that means it includes some of the stuff you wont like too.
however
I lost all respect for the aliens once I realized I could just grab them by the throat and toss them into a wall.
Choking aliens was pretty fun though, and getting chased by that giant walker was pretty fantastic as well
Install the editor. It's in the "sandbox2" folder. Then the executable will be in the bin32 folder
Sandbox2 anyway, OR anything interesting in bin32, It's all dll's

Developer wrote it. Maybe it'll help you
Thankyou very much and may Koreans part and die by your stride
verify that you have access to this Directory

Bothersome
I may be a bit too inebriated for this
Are you on Vista? Are you logged into the admin account? Vista can be VERY protective of the program files folder.
Try right clicking the installer and selecting "Run as administrator" and see if that helps.
Failing that, try installing Crysis to a different folder ( like just C:\Crysis or something). That should sidestep the issue altogether.
Ahh well
Cloak works on them too. The difference is they can see you from further, but it's entirely possible to spring sneak attacks from cloak.
The korean rifles secondary ammo type also just completely annihilates them, they really do not like that ammo.
It's been a long time.
How about an update?
They're also like 1 gig in total.
So I need to do a screenshot and that takes a while. And I have quizzes and mid sems.
I was planning to do a piece of the level at least by my tonight (11 am now).
This one is a bit of a shoutout to subedii, I use a number of tactics he talked about, although I like to think I embellish it with my own more aggressive methodology.
This one is 17 minutes long, and there are a number of moments I'd like to mention. I'll put them in a spoiler below the link.
If you are the kind of person who likes to download the video, I'd recommend you do not do this from gamerstube....whatever they do to the file when they process it, they pad it out immensely. The vid is 150mb roughly on my computer, and over 300 when I went to download it from gamerstube.
I'm on the lookout for a good download site but know nothing about them: this is virtually the only large scale uploading I've ever done. If someone could recommend a decent one to me I'll throw this vid up on it.
Unfortuantly I don't have time right now to look for one, but I'll have a good look tomorrow.
Video linky:
Rocket Sniping!
Comments about vid, recommend you watch it first:
The part with the car tire is just one of those Crysis moments that happens frequently. I've got numerous similar moments while running through these levels multiple times that I've never recorded. It still made me laugh though, especially as the first clanking sounds before it appears had me going all "???". It patiently rolled down the whole hill to get to me.
This level, if you have the game, is one I consider worth multiple runthroughs. It's one of my favourite "peaceful" missions, where there isn't too much pressure on you to get things done quickly yet. And there's multiple paths, interesting bases and your weaponry is varied enough to give you lots of tactics.
As an example, I once stole that truck patrolling down the road, drove it down to the hut area with the sniper scope, crashed it into the other truck, jumped out and backed away while shooting my trucks gas tank.
The explosion took out both trucks and I used their carcasses as cover.
I'm tempted to upload multiple videos of the bases in particular, but the uni business I warned about earlier is taking it's toll, so I probably wont be able to.
Oh and rocket sniping works up to much more extreme distances than I showed in the video, but the further it is, the easier even the tiniest movement of your mouse will make the rocket swing off course. You need a very steady hand.
Trivia: If you have been watching carefully, after I last used a rocket on the tanks in the village mission, I threw away the empty one and never got another.... I actually cheated and reloaded an earlier save, went back to the village to get a rocket then quickly ran back through that section killing minimum people and used that save. I just threw away the precision rifle I had before before I left the level so I'd be more in line with the Let's Play videos.
I just ordered a new computer along with Crysis, and I'm pretty damn stoked to play it.
Here are my specs:
- Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8200
- 3GB DDR2 SDRAM
- 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
- Vista w/ Directx10
I'm assuming that's enough to run the game at a decent level, but I'm not quite sure. What do you guys think?
Also, I've picked up that NaturalMod is a must before playing, but are there other mods that I should know about?
Thanks for your time.
[BTW, I speak Korean. I can understand everything they're saying, but those bastards don't know that. Murder. Murder.]
Also, naturalmod is awesome but not a must
The game looks fantastic even at an original level
with that said, get naturalmod
I could use a computer, too.
UPDATE!
I'm pretty swamped right now so this is from the original batch of videos I was having sound problems with. For some reason the sound problems stopped from this video on since I was starting and stopping the vid recording to make it easier to organise. Musta let the recording proggy resynch or something, I have no idea.
So I'm just gonna go ahead and use em since I'm swamped and I have enough for a few weeks updates.
I start off in the same patch of brush, just a few minutes backwards in time. Also there's a sniper scope on my korean rifle instead of an assault scope.
Base Assault
Spoilers about this vid:
First off, snipe the snipers, take out the machine gunners, then get into the base and into a sniper tower, then rain down havok.
The grenade thing shocked the hell out of me. I've never done that before so I had no idea if the thing was about to collapse under me or not. Suddenly I was nekkid!
You can see in this video why I don't bitch about helicopters much. I rarely find them troublesome because I know where all the rocket launchers are. 8-)
I do a lot of random staring off into the distance in this video....you probably can't hear any sounds too clearly because the sound conversion is terrible, but I'm listening and checking for koreans. Sometimes if they stand still you can't see them because they blend into the undergrowth and such, but you can hear their commands to each other from quite far away. Since I'm playing on Delta if I get caught in the open I'm probably in deep kimchee head downwards, so I always check before leaving a fortified position.
This is the video after that, just a bunch of rice paddies along the road before a hut. You don't have to take or kill the people in or around this hut, but I don't like leaving mass concentrations of enemies at my back. Plus this hut is fun to clear out.
The vid is labelled swampy crysis because I'm a twit and didn't think they might be rice paddies until I wrote out this update post
Nothing to say here, just kill a bunch of dudes and hide in smelly water.
Enjoy. Back to studying for me now.
Thanks, homeboy. I do enjoy these videos. It's too bad they aren't higher quality, though. Does anybody know of a good free hosting service?
And yeah GTA doesn't help much but I don't play it that much either. Luckily I have at least two more weeks vids I'd say at my slow pace already recorded.
I know this has apparently died but I will finish what I've started! I've just been super busy.
Here's a couple of fun times for you guys.
First up, some more shenanigans amongst the hut people. I didn't do anything very memorable in this video that I could create a name out of except maybe pick up a gun very smoothly on the run, but that doesn't make a good title.
So it's just gonna be the hut people on the river.
The next one is much more amusing, probably only to me.
Thus I present to you:
Devil May Crysis: Smokin Style!
Oh the punnery.
This one is big, with a lot of action and a story cutscene at the end.
Next one will be in just over a week and a half. Sorry, it's three weeks before exams and uploading means letting the computer run for a couple of hours.
After exams I intend to go through a whole bunch pretty quickly, there are some fun sections coming up.
Enjoy.
What's the point in using binoculars beyond, well, seeing things further away? They seem rather time consuming and pointless.
Also would you consider changing the suit voice? The dude really annoys me. I doubt I'm alone there.
You can tag enemies with the binocs on harder difficulties to make them appear on radar.
I never asked for this!
Cloak engaged. Wooha yeah baby give me that deep brown voice mmmmm.
So no.
Re binocs: On Delta difficulty, enemies don't get tagged on your radar after you alert them, they just appear temporarily. When they lose interest, they dissapear again. Anytime it looks like I'm reading enemy minds, it's usually because I tagged them earlier. It's just really important, since they kill you so quick. You never see all my reloads after all.
Ah, well. Let's hope those exams come quick, eh?
Kudos for effort, though, great LP.
I'm going to throw them up on a download site after my exams, but I don't have time to look for one now.
Oh and I'll be putting up the resolution of the current level this weekend, but new stuff will have to wait till after exams. :P
