Our esteemed Whippy works in a used bookstore with fellow forumer Shorty and occasionally they will stumble upon stuff that they know I will find most wonderful, so they save them for me. The other night for example, Whippy gave me a B:TAS pop-up book that is very cool.
Well Shorty tells me that someone has sold the bookstore all of the Batman Adventures comics. And that they also have all of the Batman Beyond comics there. So this morning Fram and I speed to the store and for next to nothing, I now have a fuckton of comics and as I was going through them...
Holy fuck.
You guys, he really meant all of them.
Mad Love.
Fucking mint condition.
I seriously think I am going to cry.

Neat. My comic shop had a 90% off sale a while back. I bought about $800 worth of comics for $80. Got near full runs of Young Justice, JLI/E, Martian Manhunter, Booster Gold, Chase, Hourman, Chronos, Young Heroes in Love, Power Company, Impulse, Hitman, and pretty much every other great mid-80's to late 90's series I'd always meant to buy but never had the money for.

You, Sars, and I should form a club.
Speaking of Major Bummer, what the Hell happened to John Arcudi? He also did a fantastic run on Doom Patrol with Tan Eng Huat that I absolutely loved, but it seems like he completely dropped off the radar in recent years. Along with Dan Raspler, Joe Harris (Slingers), John F. Moore, Dan Curtis Johnson, and a bunch of other dudes from that era. At least Tom Peyer's writing comics again.
Don't feel bad TMM, I'm about as far away from all that good stuff as you can get. All the stores in southern Georgia blow, there isn't even a 'comic shop' around here, just a book store that gets some issues weekly.
That is awesome, Jordyn. Wow, Jordyn and Whippy... This is a nostalgia thread or something.
My comic store is fairly reliable. The one guy is kind of a jerk, but everyone else is nice. Not a lot of sales happen though. I can't remember one all year.

There's a store not far from me that's run by the father of a girl I work with. He's got a huge selection crammed into two little rooms.
Normally, it's $2 per book, $1 if you buy more than 20, but because I work with his daughter, he gives me everything for a buck.
Last time I was there, I dropped $40 and managed to almost finish my Micronauts and ROM collections, and got most of the Amalgam books while I was at it.

One Gotham Adventures seems to be missing as well as one Batman Adventures (which just happened to be one that we already had!).
I'm checking lists and stuff now, but otherwise it looks pretty complete and in amazing condition.

Washington states not THAT far from Connecticut. I could totally make it on a half-tank of gas.
And then sell a kidney to buy everything I need.
