Hey since we're going to have to wait until May, let us amuse ourselves with Avatar merchandise and whatnot!
I guess the second Avatar video game sucks less than the first one, but eh what do you expect from licensed games? At least you can play as Toph and Iroh in this game.
The Avatar roller-coaster at the Mall of America is pretty fun. I rode it over Spring Break, and I have to say it's the second-best thrill ride there. It even features a linear induction motor, if you're a nerd and care about that crap.
Also I asked in the least thread, and apparently the trading card game is lackluster and really not worth it. Ho-hum, oh well!
Was I supposed to be impressed by that? In that entire 8 minute and 47 second video, there was about a total of 30 seconds of actual fighting, half of which was "hey look, we're moving really fast" and the entire rest of the video was filled up with exposition that just dragged on and on.
did you watch the lee vs gaara or naruto vs sasuke ones i posted a few pages back?
It's a very solid fight.
But the Avatar group storming the Earth Kings Castle is probably the most badass thing I have ever seen.

Ya might wanna spoiler that, since I think some of us haven't seen all of Book 2 yet. That said, I am very inclined to agree with you. Though every fight so far in Book 3 involving
Combustion Man vs the Gaang
have been as good or better than said battle from Book 2.

Unless I'm mistaken, the agreed terms for spoilers here was free game on Books 1 and 2, and a choice between tagging all of book 3, or only the episodes not aired in america (anything after DoBS).
But yeah, you better get the big Appa. I am! (Eventually)
Re: spoilers. Oh okay, well tread lightly then, Avatar newbies!

This hat looks kinda cool, but a little young-looking. It says "Boys" too, so I'm sure the gloves at least wouldn't fit.
The Chinese lettering is cool. I'm pretty sure I've seen videos of conventions where there were girls wearing the hat (the ones who weren't in costume).

Well, a thing I also noticed is if someone announces they're watching the series for the first time or whatever, people shut up about bigs things, but still spoil like "omg you'll love toph" or "omg book 1 ending"

Something I've been wondering about-- I understand Greg Baldwin voiced a pretty big role in BioShock, does anyone know who it was? I don't own the game, but I've watched my RA play it a few times and am kind of familiar with the story.
He is apparently very proud to have been part of the game, and even more proud to be part of Avatar.

That is turrible
I rather think Avatar would have been better off at Cartoon Network; Naruto is by no means the best programming out there but CN has taken good care of it. Perhaps because it is already a success overseas or something, I'm sure there is more complexity to the overall matter, but the point remains. Just a thought.

Hak:
It's at the beginning. The playwright lists his sources as "singing nomads, pirates, prisoners of war, and a surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage."
So basically some writer has been traveling all over the world interviewing people about Aang.

Maybe that Historian dude? Considering he escaped the library that is. It is likely someone we've seen before.

Speaking of Avatar avatars (hurr hurr) I'm thinking of switching all this for a Toph, Azula or Kyoshi theme. Methinks I'll avoid the amateurish avatars out there, though. Time to make one of my own!
Super secret: I'd also go for an Iroh theme, 'cause he's awesome.

I thought this show was going to suck for the longest time but it is so good
oh how wrong i was
Which is both horrifying and meta (is that the right term?).
For some, like Katara, I think it may be hard to tell whether they are going for the actual character, or the actor.
Actually, I heard that the creators said they'd like to see an Earth King's actor cosplayer at a future convention.
do they realize what they've done?
They didn't need a reason before.
Which is why it would be hard to tell which one they are trying to be.

sweet ass cinematic specials and whatnot
No kidding; Some of the combo moves had some amazing bonus animations.

I would very much like this shirt in white.
I'm also not sure which Appa I want.
I think I want the smaller one.
Oh hey those are some cool t-shirts. Kinda expensive but no more so than, say, a NIN shirt from Hot Topic.
And, oddly enough, they have both Avatar LEGO sets even though I'm pretty sure they don't produce them any more.
But yeah, you better get the big Appa. I am! (Eventually)

Now lets talk about the Cabbage Man.
Did you see the Chapter 17 clip about the "surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage?"
I don't think that's important enough a quote for me to spoiler, but if someone gets mad, let me know.
Wren, why must you make me see things I cannot unsee?

I've been trying to find good Fire Nation Katara. It's not too easy, AS.net has a lot of screenshots but good god milling through them is just blegh.
Oh, that clip. I guess I missed that line.
