Workflow Diagram Software

I'm currently trying to map out a workflow for a department at work, and its starting to get complicated. At the moment, I've been drawing a workflow diagram using word, but its starting to get more complicated with a few "what if" scenarios...

Does anyone know if there's any software out there designed to help create these sorts of diagrams?

If you're already familiar with the diagram feature in Word, then it's pretty easy to learn Microsoft's Visio, which integrates nicely with their other Office products.

Dia is a decent open source alternative to Visio, if you're looking for an option that involves zero monies.

Microsoft PowerPoint has a basic system of making boxes and lines connecting them, You can then copy and paste that into Word and print it out.

If you want to be fancy, my workplace decided to go with Savvion, but really... Visio. Visio had a slight learning curve for me but now I swear by it.

I can second visio as that is what I've used most often for workflow charts, but just to expand the options presented; I have definitely used PowerPoint in a pinch, and have found it to work acceptably.

Unfortunately, western cultures frown upon arranged marriages, so the vast majority of people have to take risks in order to get into relationships.

smartdraw (http://www.smartdraw.com/) is pretty decent too. they have a free 1week trial so you can see if it's the kind of program you want (I used it when I needed to make a timeline, only needed it for a couple days so the trial period was quite nice). It's a touch awkward at times, but generally it's pretty good
