I don't even need new games but I know I'm going to swing by on my lunch break to see if there are some DS/PSP games I might want, because I can't stand paying retail. :x I've been hemming and hawing on Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters for ages, so if that's down to the proper $17.99 used price I might have to jump on it.

Any word on how long this sale lasts? I think I may have to dedicate some of my $600 check for the economy stimulus thing to this sale. And I just bought a Wii and a used Zelda. Think I'll return the Zelda for a refund and then purchase it again so I can get a free game.
I heard the guys at my EB talking about it, and they said that the stores themselves don't know for sure when it ends-- it ends when corporate sends them an email saying that it ended. That being said, generally it's a week to around 10 days.
I got Sonic Rush, Assassin's Creed, and God of War II. Sweet.
OF COURSE! The one weekend I'm going to be out of town is the one they have it. Even though it starts tomorrow, I won't be able to swing by because I'm tied up the whole day in work/packing for a freaking 6 AM outbound flight.

Yes, you should have posted 43 minutes later and saved me embarrassment.
Nah, I just should have read more carefully.
So I'm thinking of picking up Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted with this. Anyone have advice for a third? (I have all the systems, but I'd rather get something else for PS3, trying not to get anything for 360 that I don't have to)
oh man I cleaned up last time they did this. Fuck. I shouldn't spend the $. Last time, damn, god hand, eternal darkness, geist, rule of the rose, gradius 3&4, one of those dk bongo games, one of those shitty midway comps... stuff i'm forgetting about. just, fuck. most of that stuff was <$10 but I definitely didn't need most of it.
So it seems that people just don't sell back very many good DS games to Gamestop. I went in hoping to grab three games, but the only thing I could find used that I actually wanted was No More Heroes. I ended up walking out with a new copy of AW: DoR.
Had a good haul. I just picked up a Wii this week, and this was a great way to quickly build my collection. I picked up Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, and Mario Galaxy for 90 total. Threw in a new Zack & Wiki for 19.99, and I'm a happy Wii camper.
So this is a reason I still enjoy shopping at the Gamestop I go to. The guys that work there are pretty awesome. I got there pretty often and they know me pretty well as a regular. So I go in there with a copy of Twilight Princess I purchased last Sunday, a few days before the sale, and the receipt and tell him that I wanna get a refund then buy it again with another game so I can take advantage of the deal. The guy says he'll do it for me since I'm a regular, but they wouldn't really do it for anyone else because they want them to buy more games. So I ended up getting No More Heroes and Phantom Hourglass for about 30. So about 70 overall for the three games.

For the record, as long as you bought that used game within 7 days of the day you returned it, he would HAVE to make that deal for you, regular or not.
Used games can be returned within 7 days of purchase, for ANY reason. (this can be refused at a manager's discretion, but only really for cases where some one is abusing the policy.)
Techincally what I did could be considered abusing policy. The guy could've been a real dick about it, but wasn't. Most likely if it were someone else they would've said no that way they could sell more games. I'm just saying the guy didn't give me shit that you would expect from a lot of other places.
Techincally what I did could be considered abusing policy.
ABSOLUTELY not!
What you did was well within any store's policies. You bought an item which they put on sale within your return period. There's no policy issue there.
Abuse of policy is when peole start treating it as free rentals.
What I'm saying is that the guy did what he was supposed to do, but dressed it up as though he was doing you a favor. It just bugs me because we ACTUALLY go out of our way for our regulars at our store, so seeing a guy pretend to like that is kind of an insult.
Heh, I remember when I traded in 3 cheap PS2 games for Wipeout Pure on PSP back when it was 40$ new with some deal they had.. took it back in the next day and got the newest Gran Turismo for like 10$.. the guy working there was pissed

Should be a few good deals around, what with the reprint of SMT Nocturne (and DDS?).
Also, No More Heroes dropped to $29.99 new, so maybe the used copies are even cheaper than that.
Edit: I put Zack & Wiki as $29.99 new, but it's actually $19.99 new.

Stores JUST got told about this today too.
Damnit
Electronic composer for hire.
They forgot to lower the used NMH price, so it may be a day or two before that catches up...

I did 4/30 for a reason, mainly because I posted that near the day shift to avoid confusion.
I almost got away with it too...

It was awesome.
But you know what, you just can't go wrong with these sales.
I just picked up Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, and Ace Combat 6 (all like new mint copies with great CDs) for fucking $110.
Can't be blamed for essentially being given one game for buying two more awesome ones.
Did I do ok?
I think today or tomorrow is the last day for this sale, so everyone should go and get something new (used) to enjoy!
