The answer is "Yes, yes I do!" and today is your lucky day, because Behemoth has released a flash teaser of Castle Crashers. I can't say how closely the mechanics represent the full game, but it's fun regardless.
It's probably just me, but this game's starting to feel like a micro-DNF. It keeps dangling there in the distance under the promise of a release, and yet never shows. I just can't see how it's actually going to make any money once it's out, with all the extra development time it's had to take.

They over charge and I'll buy it regardless.
That's how.

I found the attack mechanics and character animations to be very fun and polished, but I really don't get 'The Beard', or rather I find its Jeff Minter style of tired 'internet culture'-dispensing to be stupid and hope it was churned out in an hour just to have something for a demo. I wouldn't play the game if I had to put up with insular catchphrases every 30 seconds.

The story is right there mang. Tom, one of the programmers at Behemoth, is supposedly not going to shave until Castle Crashers is released. So you fight his beard. See, makes perfect sense.
So... This is sorta what castle crashers is supposed to be like? I heard a lot of hype around that game over the past year or so, but if it's anything like what I just played... No thanks.
The controls were certainly tighter than Alien Hominid. I'm sorry, I know we should support indie development, but the retail and XBLA AH still felt like a super floaty amateur Flash game.

My thoughts entirely. Despite the quality of the art, I just felt like there was something missing from Alien Hominid that separated it from the quality of full blown retail sidescrolling shooters like the Metal Slug & Contra series.
I thought Alien Hominid was great. The only thing that bugged me was the excessive explosions, made it near impossible to see stuff during co-op, which should be an highlight of these types of games
Either way, still stoked for CC. Come out sooner, damn it!!
I mean, I know it's been in development that long, but. Wow.
That's what I was getting at. So far I think this game is a PAX exclusive
Son of a.. are they going for Valve jobs or something? Do they not realise that some pretty big and professional games have been designed, made, sold and forgotten in the time it's taken them to make this?
Not really an issue if they're still sucking money out of someone, that. I wish my capitalist pig dog brothers well on their endeavors and look forward to the swath of ruin and suffering they will tear through this fair land. The United People's Democratic Republic of The Greater Intertubes and Slamonistaic Order will fall before them in time, make no mistake.

It will be an issue if they ever want to make another game.

From what I heard, the reason development is going so slow is 1) the development team is really, really teensy, and 2) the game was pretty much done, but when they learned Microsoft was being more lenient with the maximum size of XBL games they decided to cram more stuff in.

Well the first reason I can understand, but the second may be really poor judgment on their part. They'd better hope the new stuff will bring in enough new sales to justify the extra development time, because otherwise they're screwed.
By which I mean I've read a few stories now about how it's rather hard to actually make much money off XBLA titles.

...especially now that Microsoft is giving less money from each sale to the developers (35 percent, down from 70 percent).
Then again, the advantage of a really small development team is that costs don't get crazy high. So they've got a shot.
Yeah, I do wish them all the best, it just seems to be disappearing down into Development Hell where their only hope is to get it out and call it quits. If the game was 'complete' and ready to sell, I don't see how adding in a whole bunch of extra stuff will really help, unless the other version was terrible and would've bombed.

Well, there's that whole "artistic vision" thing where devs want their babies to be as awesome as possible. :P Being an indie, Behemoth can delay the game as long as they want with no pressure from pesky publishers.
Yeah, I can completely understand and back them up on 'artistic vision', it's important and I'd want them to get it 'right'. It's just that yeah, if you can say that the game is done, it's complete and ready to go, then you suddenly decide to take another year to work on it and add new stuff.. it either makes me think the first version was rather limited and wouldn't have been any good, or that they're now just adding stuff to try and get more sales (which I don't see how that will really happen since XBLA games just don't see to get anywhere near the same amount of publicity and sales as other releases).
And sure they've got no pressure from publishers, but someone's still having to pay for the development.
wasn't this shown like 3 years ago on the cube? It looked interesting. Also Alien Hominid was pretty good, but the movement wasn't tight and it was floaty.

I want them to divert attention away from their hype shit and release the god damn game.

Steam ID : rwb36, Twitter : Werezompire,
Now I wonder how long I will be waiting.
It will hopefully be out before PAX.
But I doubt it.
They had a demo booth at the PAX before the last one(PAX '06) and it's still not out.
I mean, I know it's been in development that long, but. Wow.

"Welcome to die" cribbing lines from the x-men arcade...
CC does looks good, though.

I could have sworn I read that on Joystiq or the like...

Nope, it's from Behemoth.

I actually really liked this, I'd probably pick it up if the rest of the game was like that.
