Complete impulse buy, I grabbed a Wii yesterday, along with Mario Karts.
Didn't realize the system doesn't come with component, it physically hurt me playing with the composite cables packed in. I'm wondering if it will make a difference whether or not I buy the Wii component cables, or if I get the Intertec version (or any other third party wii compatable component cables)?
Also looking for online game suggestions. I haven't been following the Wii at all, aside from first party titles.
Actually loved it until either the d-pad, the analog stick, or one of the shoulder buttons stopped working. Might actually still have it around somewhere, even. Hmm...
3rd Party Component Cables != 3rd Party Controllers
I believe the general consensus here at PA is that a cable is a cable, you won't really notice a difference (if one even exists at all) between cheap-o cables and official cables. You should be fine going with the half-priced cables, whereas the half price controllers are half price for a reason.
I'd try them, if they don't work pick up the official ones. I do have non 1st party Sony and Microsoft cables and they work fine. A cable is a cable is a cable.
Get ye some monoprice component cables. Cheap as shit and work flawlessly.
Brawl, Kart, Strikers are the best online games.
Brawl doesn't really have great online, it's only great because Brawl is great.
I dunno, as far as lobby's go, I wish Nintendo's Mario Kart channel was in every game now. It should become standardized, as least as far as Nintendo titles go.

Psshaw, a great game online is a great online game.
Diablo over 56k was still great, even though lag spikes killed me all the time.
Eh. I spent the last two years of my life working on in-game lobbies for a living. I've seen a lot of them, to the point where I have become some sort of horrible lobby-connoisseur!

I'll just come in here and say that sometimes a cable is not just a cable. I picked up a set of the Intec component cables and they ended up looking worse than the pack-in composite.
YMMV.

Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
Any Wal-Mart should have something called the Psyclone 3-in-1 component cable. I have one and it's great. If I want to switch systems, I just unplug the port from the back of the Wii and hook it into the back of the PS3. Picture's just fine.

I myself though, bought the official cables. I don't buy third party stuff. Bad memories from buying this back in the day...
Had one of those in black.

MOH:H2 is in the same boat; if you like playing an average/bland WWII shooter with awesome Wii controls, you'll love online.
Overall, Mario Strikers is the best damned online experience. I've had more fun with that title than anything on 360 so far.
