Starts off like the preview here on 'rama, with a flashback to The Sentry stopping a bank robbery. One of the 'perps of the B&E is the Void, dressed in a snappy fedora and trenchcoat. Before Sentry can stop the robbery, both he and the Void spot a freakin' spaceship flying through New York. Yep. A spaceship. The Sentry starts crying after wigging out in the oh-so-typical "waaahh waahhh the Void is me...no I killed you...waahh waahh" rant we see in every one of his appearances. Sentry hauls ass to confront the spaceship. Lo and behold, it is a Skrull ship on a 9-11 style suicide mission to smash into the Baxter Building. The FF are eating sandwhiches (because Reed would have NO sensors or anything like that to warn of a SPACESHIP hurtling at their home) and so the Sentry punches the spaceship (more accurately a Bruiser Brody-style double axe handle)
and diverts it from the Baxter Building. He flies it into space and rips open the top of it. Granted, this would have decompressed the cabin and the Skrulls would have gotten sucked out into space and their eyeballs popped out, but in the book they just continue to sit in their chairs with their hands folded in the same manner Christians use to pray. Then the whole thing blows up.....Next page, Bob wakes up screaming in the Baxter Building, which results in some of the worst Ben Grimm dialogue in years (Bendis,I have so much faith in you and I buy a lot of your stuff, but that was the WORST Ben Grimm characterization you have ever written) Let's hope it means that the scene of Sentry in the Baxter Building, obviously coming out of a coma or an injury from the explosion, means at some point some Skrully-ness occured, otherwise it means it was a badly written scene. Anyways, so Sentry wakes up in the BB, Reed and Ben talk about how those green dudes were Skrulls and they hate the Richards family....Reed asks Sentry how he feels, and Sentry replies with the enigmatic "I think I'm..." then a panel of him pausing, then Reed: "What?"...then Sentry "I'm just tired"....something suspicious goin on. Reed ends this scene by telling Bob "Your'e a good friend...I won't soon forget".
Next scene is Right after the Scarlet Witch incident, and Ms MArvel, Iron Man, Spider-Woman (out of costume), Sentry, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Cap (out of costume) are chillin' at Stark Tower. Jarvis (whom we know is a skrull from SI #1) asks Tony for more info on the SEntry, in case he goes all-wanda-maximoff on the Avengers. As if f*ckin' Jarvis could stave off the SEntry if need be. Whatever. Tony, thinking this is perfectly normal request for his butler to ask for ultra-secret security clearance into Avenger's files, grants his request. Jarvis looks all evil as he absorbs the info on the SEntry. Next scene is all of the confirmed Skrulls in a warehouse talking. Jarvis, Hank Pym, Elektra, Spider-Woman, Countessa, and a sh*tload of SHIELD agents are all talking about the SEntry being a threat, but decide to let it go and see if he self-destructs. They talk about other heroes who may be Wild Cards, like Dr Strange. Hank Skrull says "He's a practiced sorceror" and not to underestimate him, but Jarvis says "he's an arrogant magician who can be pushed to any---" then is interuppted. Jarvis convinces the skrulls that the Sentry will self-destruct, and if not, he can easily be manipulated if they just shape-shift into the Void and mindf*ck poor Bob....Which they do in the next scene, which is an addendum to SI #2 where Bob is tricked by the vision SKrull and flies away...at least here we see (kind of) where he flies to.....F*CKING SATURN. Yes, for some reason unknown to me, he flies to SATURN (the planet), sees a weird black dot in the ring of Saturn, and assumes the fetal position...Yes, you read that last part right. He sees some black dot in the ring of Saturn, and assumes the fetal position against a black backdrop. I will let you sit on that one for a brief moment.
Okay, Last part of the book takes place present day, where the Skrulls are decimating Manhattan, and we see Lindy in the Sentry Watchtower get woken up by CLOC. It seems she is sleeping thru a massive alien invasion that is laying waste to the city around her. Sleepyhead. Anyways, a Skrull with the powers of Dr Strange and Black Bolt crashes into her room and looks menacing. Lindy say "My husband will kill you, blah blah" and starts crying. THen a big guy flies in and punches the sh*t out of the Skrull. Last page reveal:
It is The Void. He says "Bob ran away, but I will save you...I can do the things he can't" Lindy cries even more, and says "Oh God No!"

I started reading that and was completely underwhelmed - until the last part. God if that happens I will buy four copies.
Those spoilers are legit. I got my copy of MA yesterday. It really is mostly underwhelming until that last part.
Fuck yes.
Edit:
Rather embarrassingly, it reminds me of an idle thought I'd had about putting Sentry in Annihilation Conquest - have Sentry infected by the Phalanx and Bob only able to operate when he manifested The Void instead.
He also talks about his other projects, such as SI: Thor.
Secret Invasion: Thor kicks off in August, and is a three-issue paean to violence, loyalty, honor, duty, and smashing aliens in the face with giant, lightning-infused hammers.

I hope you're only referring to the last sentence because the rest I'm pretty sure someone wrote in one of my 4-year old english classes.

yeah MA 14 sounds pretty sub-par
I really hope this thing doesn't go downhill that quickly

I just hate that these solicits all say "Who do you trust?"...it's "WHOM do you trust?", damn it!
It's one thing when you're writing the colloquial speech of a particular character, but professional editors/writers producing these materials should be familiar enough with the English language to see that.
So, Nova is tieing into SI now? Good lord I don't think his series has had an issue that didn't tie into some event somewhere yet (not complaining just stating facts)
Well to be fair its not like he doesn't see kl'rt on a fairly regular basis as it is, not that i think its a particularly good idea tying the cosmic comics into the SI. I'd be happier if they kept them on a different scale. I'm also hoping that they don't ret-con kl'rt into one of these new religious zealot skrulls.

I wasn't complaining, just making on observation that Nova hasn't really had a chance to get into his own stories yet. I mean he started with Annilation, then a Civil War-ish wrap up with him on earth, then straight into Conquest and now SI.
I know I know, Galactus and that ghost story where we met Cosmo.
What's with that Psycho alien death monster on the Skrull kill krew? What's it's story?
my assumption is that it's just one of the kill krew in some crazy shape. the idea of the skrull kill krew is that they're a group of regular humans who accidentally consumed hamburgers made out of the original skrulls that tried to invade earth but were forced to turn into cows permanantly instead. eating the skrulls gave them skrull-like shapeshifting powers, but also a consumptive disease that would kill them before long. so they decide to go buck wild and kill as many skrulls as they can find with their new powers before they go belly-up. it's a 90's millar/morrison story. i was wondering if the kill krew was going to turn up, but they're going to need a pretty good explanation for still being around because they were all supposed to be dead a long time ago from this disease. that was their whole deal

Maybe this will make up for it: unconfirmed spoilers on Newsarama's Marvel forum about Mighty Avengers #14.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
(Regarding the spoiler)...I think I just wet myself. God I wanna read tthat! >__<
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
I started reading that and was completely underwhelmed - until the last part. God if that happens I will buy four copies.
Fuck yes.
Edit:

He also talks about his other projects, such as SI: Thor.
I hope you're only referring to the last sentence because the rest I'm pretty sure someone wrote in one of my 4-year old english classes.
I really hope this thing doesn't go downhill that quickly
You are correct in your hope - I'm with Robos on the general treatment of that character currently.
but also-
??
in fact, a lot of those solicits sound like they're the "end" of secret invasion. maybe si 4 is just the skrulls fucking winning for the most part
I mean having a book tie into SI for 8 months would be somewhat excessive
Something awesome!
cary nord is doing art for this, man

TRY TO KEEP UP GEEBS
but it's forgiveable, because I loved Herc's reaction to the idea that he is supposed to lead this team.
