University transfer troubles, and possibilities (U of Toronto)

Hi guys. I was recently (yesterday) admitted into the University of Toronto's Mississauga campus. Great!

One problem; it was an alternate offer. I applied for Studies in Humanities (think undeclared BA) at St. George, their campus downtown but was declined that and instead offered a spot for Studies in Humanities at their Mississauga campus (closer to home, but that really is why I don't wanna go there). I have until May 28th to accept their alternate offer. I don't want to go to school in Mississauga, I want to live downtown and go to school at St. George.

I was declined a spot in St. George but they gave me one at UTM. I'm asking if there is any possible thing I can do about this so I can go to school downtown. I got off the phone with their admissions office for UTM, and they said that I'd have to go to school at Mississauga for a year and obtain at least 5 credits to be able to transfer to St. George. This seems kind of rediculous to me, as I think I'd at least be on priority spot or wait listed for St. George as it was my choice. I mean, I don't know why I was denied a spot there and given one at UTM, I didn't even indicate I wanted to go there. I want to know if you guys think there is any issue I can raise that would grant me a spot in St. George, I don't care if I get the offer there late (ie. after May 28, like that really matters) or if I have to stick it out for a year at UTM and wait to transfer. Any/all information or experience on this subject is highly valued, and if you're a student at UofT, even better.

Thanks!
