I recently bought a PSP. Now, my DS sees little to no love anymore, but at the same time--
16:9 widescreen. Fuck you, Nintendo.
In any case, I'm looking for some good racing games for the PSP. I've had my eye on the Burnouts, and actually bought WipEout Pure the other day. Therefore, I pose two questions to you, G&T:
- I like Burnout Revenge very much. Which of the two PSP Burnouts are most similar?
- Can you recommend any other good racing games?
I'll probably end up buying WipEout Pulse anyway, and I can highly recommend Pure to anyone who wonders.

It's an import, but it's region free, and guaranteed awesome.
Less high speed style and more technical(drifting), though.
Based on the arcade's Version 3, from the looks of it.
Test Drive is pretty good, but is missing quite a bit from the PC version,Still lots to do though
Sega Rally is ok, but not the best.
Need for Speed Own the Street can suck it.
Midnight Club 3 is good if you can bare the load times
Flatout Head On has it's moments, but they are few and far between
Ridge Racer is pretty good if you don't mind the really slippy loose arcade feel
OutRun - I had more fun with than RR, basically the arcade game and a few more bits and peices

(BTW, cj iwakura, dude, I just want to say you have fucking awesome taste in games. You start Persona3 and Castle of Shikigami threads, and now here you are beating me to the Initial D recommendation.)

You know, that's an old, terrible, useless meme.
But you totally got me. I was like, "No way, that's not coming out for, like, ever. I wonder what IGN is pulling out of their ass for this one.....oh."
Dammit. :P
As for thread relevance, I recommend Burnout Legends, both Wipeouts, Outrun, and Ridge Racer. Might have to check out Initial D as well it seems.
And Valhalla Knights 2, possibly. Grr.

I can't recommend Wipeout Pulse enough. I bought Pure at launch and I played it on-and-off until the release of Pulse (2+ years) and Pulse is simply superior in every way.
I threw up an OP of it months ago here. I haven't updated it with the DLC because nobody was interested :P
So yep. There you have it. Get Wipeout Pulse and all your greatest wipeout-related desires will be satisfied :winky: Just avoid the broken Eliminator mode...
Also a hat-tip to Burnout Legends. While I really enjoyed Dominator, I believe Burnout 3 is the peak of the series and Legends is pretty much just a portable version of it. The takedowns feel slight off compared to its console breathren, but its not enough to detract from the experience. Just don't expect them to be as easy as Paradise. Should be cheap as chips these days
