- Why haven't any consoles actually come with a game making utility like the old Commodore 64, etc, had? It could possibly inspire creativity if they were to do something like that.
Xbox 360 says "hey"
Even in that case it's kinda limited, though. It's not the same as it being an advertised feature and just something you can tinker with for free right outta the box.

Which I don't think we will ever have again.
XNA is far, far, faaaar less restrictive than the C64's basic was. Trust me on this.
Also, the C64 wasn't a console. Also, lots of consoles since have shipped with versions of Basic. Also, Basic isn't that great for creating games with.
Also, XNA is free, and you CAN tinker with it right outta the box.
- Why aren't more RPGs (even the big ones) designed more like Paper Mario? It seems like the only RPG series that actually has gameplay these days.
Because we're SO used to FF games. :P
- Why don't developers even try on the Wii? Is it a lack of budget, or a lack of talent?
...it takes less money, and still gets them big bucks comparatively.
They're just in it for the cash, nothing else.
-but yeah, probably lack of talent would be #2... #1 being lack of care.
- Why aren't more classic games reinvented like Pac-Man (Pac-Man Championship Edition) and Space Invaders (Space Invaders Extreme) were?
To many gamers: "That's a new idea"
To everyone else: Not enough demand
- Who thought it would be a good idea to drive the costs of consoles above $300?
The people who saw the success of previous gaming consoles... and realizing how some people can no longer live without video games.
Why the hell were there so many castles in the mushroom kingdom anyway? There's only one princess right?
Why did N64 have that little card slot for a better graphics chip or whatever it was? Did any games really need it? Did it make a difference? I mean really, the slot was tiny, they couldn't just GIVE us that card anyway?

It was more RAM, and a good chunk of games used it. Many of them Rare titles.

It was a ram expansion port. Yes, games took advantage of it - a few like Donkey Kong Country and Perfect Dark wouldn't run without it.
Ram was hyper expensive back in 1996. Physical size doesn't matter. RAM, today, is relatively inexpensive, but back then, 4mb of ram was like a $100 difference.

Perfect Dark would RUN, you just lost a lot of the fun stuff.

Assuming that Peach was the reigning monarch, the castles were probably for vassals who had been entrusted with fiefdoms. However, the large amounts of lava and automated defenses suggests that they might have been fortified military outposts that Bowser took over. Of course, Bowser himself may have added the traps much like he turned the lower castes into inanimate objects.
"Where the hell are the goddamn koopa kids nowdays? And where did Bowser Jr come from?"
They were in only in three games that I can think of. One of them was a retro cameo, and the other game half the people here probably haven't even heard of. You might as well ask where the hell Boom Boom went.
Why did Microsoft decide to use their own kind of wireless for the 360 controller instead of Bluetooth?
So they wouldn't have to pay licensing fees and whatnot for bluetooth?
I guess that makes sense, it just annoys me that in order to use the wireless controller on your PC you have to buy a dongle to use just for the controller, whereas a lot of computers (at least laptops) already has Bluetooth.

Boredom. Also, it's fun to see people get so pissed off over text online.
Because it's a cool and classy name.
Yeah, this is what I was thinking as well.
Would be a great feature.

...wait 'til late Fall before you complain.
"Where the hell are the goddamn koopa kids nowdays? And where did Bowser Jr come from?"
Thus the reason Peach is so terrified of Bowser.
Disowned.
...or college.
Bowser wasn't lying in Sunshine.
...I know it was kinda' dead, but the controls woulda' been perfect for it.
People say this, and I just don't see it. Are you supposed to point to where you want to go? Or tilt the controller ala Super Monkey Ball?
I saw "bah" to both. Now, Katamari on the DS would have been sex, but I don't think the DS has enough under the hood to run it.

Japan isn't the only place that makes the things.

Which wasn't worth the price of admission, actually.
FUCKING SERIOUSLY! Especially now that we have the Wii!
. . .why does Square insist on running the Final Fantasy series into the ground?
. . .is Peach really Bowser Jr.'s mom?
. . .did it hurt?
But Super Punchout 2 on the Wii would do a lot to change my opinion of the thing. Especially if it used the balance board.
Oh man...
EDIT: OH MAN... super macho man in 3D...

He'd be huuuuge.
Imagine if they had multiple control schemes. Like, at the most basic, you could use the wiimote turned sideways for classic punchout action.
Or you could use a wiimote + nunchuck with wii boxing controls.
Or you could use two wiimotes for slightly improved controls.
or you could use two wiimotes and a wii balance board for perfect controls.
Or you could use the rubber band, turpentine, shred of cloth, candle and magnifying glass for an explosive!
Oh...wait what?

Imagine an online vs mode in Punchout Wii.
Guys, guys, let's all suck TSR's cock because he's awesome and every thread he posts in suddenly becomes about him.
are you and goomba like, tag team buddies
also i'm probably going to buy mass effect because of you

I never asked for this!
Actually I applaud them, since I had no problems with theirs, but have had a few dropouts with my Sixaxis.

They should put that and it's sequel on PSN.
