Torrent software

Does anyone have a good recommendation for software to download torrents with? I've been using BitComet, but ever since I started using it I've started getting blue screen crashes (some IRQ problem), without fail, every few hours. It may or may not be related, but...

just to be on the safe side, what else is out there that's comparable to BitComet in quality and functionality?

    You didn't mention your platform.

Transmission is best (if you can use it).

I really like uTorrent. It's easy, and it works great. I used to use Azureus, but uTorrent seems better in pretty much every way.

For Windows µTorrent is probably the best. (It's my favorite, anyway)

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?

uTorrent for its simplicity and the WebUI. If you can manage to get that set up, it's indispensable.

    Another vote for uTorrent!
I love the program, and have tried many.

I use uTorrent myself, it really is the best for windows.

(Also, I've used Transmission before, it wasn't nearly as featured as uTorrent, or even things like Azereus. I'm not entirely sure how that makes it "the best")

I just started using Bitlord and I really like that. I used to use Azureus, but it's gotten so crappy and filled with junk that I quit using it.

Yeah, I used to use Azureus with a web UI plugin, but it had stability issues out the proverbial ying-yang. It would intermittently crash with a particular error, and when I looked up that error on Azureus' support site, their response was essentially "oh that's a bug in Java, go complain to Sun". Right, because Sun is going to drop everything to get this fixed so I can torrent stuff... After continually encountering the problem through multiple releases of Azureus and Java, I gave up on it. I've since switched to uTorrent, it's way more stable, has a much smaller memory footprint, and the web UI works really well for my purposes. It'd be nice if uTorrent was open source, but I can live without that. You couldn't pay me to go back to Azureus now.

Well, after all the bashing up Azureus, I'm going to throw my hat in and say I use it all the time and love it. I haven't tried uTorrent though...

I, too, recommend uTorrent. Even on Linux (through Wine). I deeply appreciate the Boss Key.

uTorrent. All the way. Easy to use, low memory footprint, awesome web UI and last, but not least, it looks good in my taskbar.

Somewhat unrelated, but by Windows XP SP2 do you mean you haven't installed SP3? Because you really should...

That is not what I have heard.

For instance the installation of SP3 on my machine caused any and every source based game to crash on load.
