Sometimes I have dreams that seriously scare me and when I wake up my heart is still beating a little fast. I will now describe those dreams to you.
The first one was about big foot, of all things. It started with a camera crew, some of my friends and I running through a forest. Apparently we had been on the run for 6 months. Then it flashed back to sometime when I was a kid. It dark and raining and I was in bed. I could see one of my best friends' bedroom (:winky:) from my window. She (:winky:) looked at me and sunk into her bed a little. I knew something bad was going to happen. The next bit is fuzzy, but I recall a huge, hairy monster (about 20 feet tall probably) walking through the area. I think the next morning alot of the trailers (yes, it was a trailer park...) being destroyed, but I'm not positive.
Then I remember being with the camera crew again. We were searching for big foot in the forest. All of the sudden it comes out and I hear this horrible loud noise. The rest was roaring and blood spraying everywhere. Then we were back on the run, sticking to the trees because big foot could only see you in the open (o_O). And that was basically it. It was an incredibly vivid dream and it convinced me someone, somewhere could make a scary big foot movie.
The second was about two fellow scientists and myself. We had discovered something incredibly important, but I don't know what. One of the scientists and I decided to keep it a secret and not tell the other guy. He got really suspicious. One time, late at night, the two of us went for a drive. We heard a noise outside so he parked the car and I left. I looked back and the third scientist was in the back of the car and he strangled the other guy. He came out and chased me and then I woke up. It was probably the most intense fear I've ever experienced and I thought it was actually happening.

How odd.
it happened a couple years later
I had lots of dreams that predicted the future, it was really weird
the oldest one i remember was when i was 4 or 5 - i dreamt that i had woken up, and the wind was blowing the curtains really hard. so i sat up and was going to jump onto the floor but the floor was gone, it was just darkness. so i climbed onto my dresser to reach the curtains, and they folded into an origami eagle, which swooped down after me - i jumped off of the dresser, and fell for what felt like forever, hit the ground - grabbed my cabbage patch doll, ran to the door to get away, screaming and crying - and as i got there, it locked shut.
i woke up crying my eyes out. my poor babysitter.
That shit's pretty cool.
A friend of mine once showed me a map of a country divided into about ten different states (all named) that he had drawn, and told me he had dreamed for three consecutive nights about living there to the point that he could accurately draw it and describe its people and history and current events.
Dusty, sheets on all the furniture, dark rooms
And to top it all off, it was in the middle of a thunderstorm.
So we were wandering around in the dark, flashlights out, when we see this thing jumping around from place to place, only ever moving when we cast our lights on it. Otherwise, it's perfectly still. The thing is blindingly fast, and looks something like a decidedly more nasty version of the gremlin on the side of the bus from that one Halloween episode of the Simpsons.
So we're pretty fucking creeped out, and we want to leave. We enter a new room, trying to find a back door or something, only to discover that there's a giant set of picture windows all across the far wall, and we can see the storm in all of its glory. The creature leaps into the room with us, and as it does, the door shuts and our flashlights all simultaneously fail.
The lightning is constant at this point. We can see this little gremlin jumping around the room too fast for the eye to follow. Naturally, we all take cover.
It is at this point, with my dreamself crouched under a table, that I leave that dream, and go into another. I hope this has happened to someone else at some point. Now, I can't remember this dream, but I know it was decidedly less horrific.
So I "jump" back into the first dream after the second ends and I find myself under a table in a dark room during a thunderstorm with no idea what's going on. So I stand up in the open without realizing what I'm doing.
There's a piercing pain in my back, and as I arch suddenly, I look back and see this horrible creature with its claws dug into my flesh staring back up at me and grinning. It's like there's a spotlight on me from somewhere in the ceiling, and as I watch in terror at this thing clinging to me and about to rip my spine out with its teeth or something
I can see all of my friends reaching out from where they were hiding, trying to help me, trying to save me before this little thing killed me or something. All of them with the most heartbreaking looks of horror and concern on their faces
Then I wake up. On my stomach. And the room's kind of dark.
things that are creepy about this dream are that 1) i can feel the pain when i'm stabbed, 2) i get stabbed where my birthmark is, and 3) i can see myself in a mirror in the back of the store - and i'm not me.
when I was in sixth grade I dreamed that violent, angry looking men with ak-47s charged into my classroom and ordered everyone to lie down, hands on head, etc, which everyone did, including me. then they started questioning all my friends and classmates one by one about the location of a football, getting really worked up about it and threatening to shoot them.
suddenly I realized that I had the football and that it was vitally important that I hide it. I hid it under my body, and when they came to me and told me to tell them where the football was, I lied and said I had no idea. they could tell I was lying so they shot me, firing dozens of rounds into my chest and killing me.
when I had the dream I had no idea why the football was so important that I would die to keep it safe, but years later (it was a pretty memorable dream) I figured it out. I had been playing mgs2 at the time, and in that game the briefcase that contains the codes necessary for nuclear launch is referred to as "the football." when I realized that it made that old dream make a whole lot more sense.
whenever that happens with me the dream instantly becomes a nightmare
because my subconscious realizes that I have become aware I can control the dream and so it overpowers me and doesn't listen and starts toying with me because I can't do anything about it
shit sucks
any time i have a dream where i get in a fight or something i inevitably get injured and it hurts. not like it would in real life, but in a far off kind of way. notable memories include having an arrow pierce my throat in a dream and waking up choking on absolutely nothing. it also wasn't uncommon for me to have 'falling' dreams, except instead of waking up when I hit the ground, I feel myself impact and then slowly come to with complete sleep paralysis.
fuck nightmares, my dreams fuck with me in real life.

For years I periodically had dreams set in an imaginary shopping mall that I'm sure at the time I could have mapped out.
I still remember bits like the donut store on the corner and the huge video arcade upstairs.
Thinking back though, it probably changed quite a lot from dream to dream, but at the time it always felt like it was the same place.
It also had a huge confusing multistory car park that I would always get lost in.
nothing more than that. just suddenly in water, trying to swim up, finding ice, waking up gasping
stupid brain, it's no wonder i'm so goddamn on edge all the time
It started when I was 6.
The nightmare always started the same way. Walking up the stairs of the house I had been living in when the nightmares began. At the top of the stairs is the doorway to the bathroom. I'd push the door open and look in, knowing what I was going to see, my cousin Autumn face down in a tub of water, a huge slug sliding out of her mouth and down the drain.
Terrified, I go running to my mom's room, and inside, instead of finding my mother, theres a strange alien landscape. Multicolored crystals everywhere shining technicolor lights. No sign of my mother. Turning, I find myself back at the top of the stairs, looking down to the first floor. Nothing but darkness, and a pair of glowing eyes.
I'd wake up covered in sweat, panicked at that point.
After about 5 years of that I'd start saying "Fuck this!" when the dream first started, and go hunting down the lion looking monster the lived on the first floor instead of going up the stairs.
