I just finished watching District B-13 and when it was over it pumped me up so much that I ran around my condo doing some parkour. I jumped on my fouton, kicked my door frame, and then did a roll on the ground. I was the complete personification of awesome.

Yeah man, I want to run around and do stuff.
So that got me thinking, what other movies out there are filled with tons of style that the make you want to really do something when you are done.
Others I can think of at the moment..
The 300. When I got done seeing that one on Imax I wanted to do some pushups and go to the gym. It was pure sex done with a ton of CG and film filters.
Casshern.

The second half of the movie was poop but the first half is pretty mind blowing for anyone who is a fan of anime and robots and stuff.
So what other movies out there should I watch? I don't want the mainstream things, I want those movies that are sitting lonely on the rental shelf (Netflix page?) that not everyone knows about but are so filled with style that once they are done you need to go run up a wall and punch someone in the face. Be it foreign, independent, or whatever, I want to see some crazy movies that are out of the mainstream that give my eyes some excitement.

This. Gun-kata is poetry in motion.
Also, anything with Tony Jaa rocks my socks off.

Also, Sin City.

EDIT: The Fountain and Sunshine were also excellent movies. Glad to have seen them in theaters.
Also: Eyegasms
The 39 Steps
Shadow of a Doubt
Strangers on a Train
Hitch was the master of staging, shooting and directorial control.
:?:
bad movie, id rather watch static for 2 hours.
All of these make for a very pretty to look at movie.
IT IS THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN EVER
Oldboy
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Sympathy For Lady Vengeance
Pleasantville
Not just superb visual effects, but visual effects that actually have meaning to the story.
Seriously, so awesome.
It's not English, it's not Irish, it's just...Pikey.
Also City of God! That movie is pure visual sex and depression
It's not a great movie, but it's definitely worth seeing at least once, just for certain scenes. I can just say that I enjoy watching it enough to have bought my own copy, even if it does lift heavily from Neverending Story and other such escape fantasy films.
Oh, and the Sphinxes were more disturbing and awkward than anything else. They were supposed to be disturbing, I suppose, but they just don't look right. Bad choices were made when deciding how to make them, I think.
This is the most confusing assortment of words I've ever read in my life. Seriously, it was better than Alien.
I hear The Fall is a visual orgasm on celluloid as well.
So Sunshine was that good, eh? I've been interested in it for a while now, I really gotta rent it one of these days.
I caught an episode of Wild China a few weeks ago. It's a new documentary by the BBC. It was amazing, with some of the most beautiful visuals I've ever seen. It showed me that China is fucking huge with a lot of different biotopes and filled with the most amazing animals and plants in the world. There are still cultures out there that travel around nomad style.
In that trend, while I haven't seen it, I hear Planet Earth is pretty awesome too.

The crash at 4:45 is incredible.
Renaissance
I am spraying eye goo everywhere.
They're casting for the sequel at the moment!
That is fucking amazing. Holy shit.
Wow.
Thank you for showing me that.
In return, please let me give you this:

It is the trailer, simply because I don't want to spoil the movie for you. It is visually stunning, the fight sequences are incredible, the story's good, and it just surprised the hell out of me when I first picked it up as a DVD rental.
It is probably my favourite 'foreign' film.
Ah yes, Le Pacte des loups, I'd forgotten about that. Great film, and proof that Marc Dacascos should have had a bigger carrer in the states. He's a far better martial arts star, than food show host.

I guess I'll add something here as well. A lot of people were really down on Silent Hill for the plot being a bit weak, or the film not doing this or that. In the end though, it's a terrific feast for the eyes, with an incredible atmosphere and masterfully realized terrors straight out of the games.
Park-Chan Wook's vengeance trilogy is a visual feast.
Zhang Yimou has a talent for sumptuous visuals.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ...And Spring is another gem.
The Third Man is wonderful and anyone with an eye for cinematography needs to see it.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
I saw The Fall last week. It is fantastic, visually. If you've seen his other movie, The Cell, you have an idea what to expect.
I thought The Darjeeling Limited was great on the eyes. So much bric-a-brac and stimulation, and great use of color.
All the wide shots are just things of utter beauty.
