    Banshee is in that picture.

    Sigh.

Why do you hate Gen X so much Marvel? There was no need to kill him.

I've been wondering what's been up with characters like Lifeguard and Marrow. Although given the number of dead characters in that picture I guess I shouldn't assume they'll be in it.

Umm... he seemed pretty pissed when he was pounding Morlun's face into nothingness... then the red eyes, wrist spikes, and webbing of the damned finished him off.

    More info plz.

    Quoted for great confusion.

I'm going to spoiler this, but it is just the final fight scene between Pete and Morlun in "the Other" storyline... basically the last good part of that series.
It happened during the Other story line... when Peter was in the hospital after getting his ass kicked by Morlun... you know, that immortal guy who devoured animal totems that Spidey and Ezikeal (however you spell that...) barely defeated some time back...

Anyway, Spidey gets his ass kicked and his eye plucked out, he's in the hospital when Morlun comes to finish him off. MJ is there and trys to protect Pete... Morlun breaks her arm, then goes to finish her off. This is when Spidey goes completely bad-ass... the wrist spikes come out for the first time, he grows fangs, got red eyes... he jumps on Morlun, wraps him in webbing and... I think he uh... eats him or something. maybe the webbing does it, but Morlun dies. Then Pete dies, and the Other story line continues.
So this isn't in continuty then? Either way i'm not sure how I missed this but i'm going to have to find it.

Wasn't so much Peter going bad-ass as more the spider-part of him kicking in to take over thanks to Morlun beating the crap out of his regular-self. Hopefully we'll see the spikes again as the rest of the new powers The Other storyline brought in. With CW happening almost the moment The Other ended, Peter nor the writers have had a chance to focus properlly on them. The closest has been the Miss Arrow sub-plot in Friendly Neighborhood.

This smells to me like the "Superman goes electric" deal. Take your flagship character who has grown old and stale, revamp him with a new costume and powers and watch the money roll in!

We all know this will go the way of the Clone Saga. by which I mean it will be remembered as a bad move and hastily forgotten.

I just recently bought all the back issues comprising the "Superman loses his powers and then gains new powers" story arc (and by "all", I mean every issue in every Superman book published at the time that has a Superman Blue/Red appearance). Apparently, it's one of the most loathed periods of Superman's history (loathed by fans, that is). I need to set aside a full afternoon to read them all.

Frankly, I've always thought that Blue costume is awesome.

    What?

All the Other did was give Spider-Man some new powers and upgrades to his old ones.

That's it. This black costume shit is completely unrelated and is just a forced movie tie-in, like how there was three or four Doctor Octopus miniseries at once when Spider-Man 2 came out.

If it turns out that Zombie howard is feasting on the brains of Wolverine (unlikely given the shape of the blacked out figure) I'll buy five copies.

Plus that pic of the Punisher dual wielding M-16's with grenade launchers and killing zombies left, right and center is also very cool.
